I remember seeing this problem and solution ( but just can't remember now ! ).

I have an original MS. PAC completely working but it has a "buzz" or "hum" coming over the speaker. The more you turn up the volume on the pcb, the louder it gets.

Anyone ????

Thanks,
Dave.

Can't quite remember either but I repaired the same thing.....bad amp or cap the main board I'm thinking is what does the trick. Insert 'old man syndrome here'...I'm pretty sure that was the fix. Maybe somebody 'young' will chime in....;)....

Edge connector, fuse holders, caps in the power supply sections on the mobo. I'd check in that order.

Alot of time hum is caused by a bad cap, usually the 330uf. Of course a dirty edge connector will cause it too so check the easy stuff first.

Sometimes feedback from the marquee light/ballast can cause a hum, too...

Thanks for all the replies guys. It ended up being the fuse block. Replaced it with a new one from The Shack and whalla...........hum went away.

Cheers !
