Anyone remember the first game they played/first they beat?

I've been reminiscing about the NES as I've been working on my playchoice. recently I've asked my brother and wife if they remembered the first game they played and the first game they beat. Neither of them could produce an answer. I thought it was odd as I have very fond memories of getting to play my very first game and the first time I ever beat a game.

My first game: Paperboy for the NES

I remember my dad bought a used NES off of someone for $100 and it came with paperboy. I remember it took me forever to get past the first day and I never did win the game until I used a game genie later on in life.

My first game I best: Rescue Rangers for the NES

I remember working on this game all summer when I was around 11 or 12. I was completely dumbfounded the first time I bested fat cat to complete the game. I spent the rest of that summer beating the game over and over again and starting to work on smb2.

First game to beat was that of Joust. One day at the local arcade I spent just shy of 5 hours playing on one token and ending lives just before the 10 million mark. I did not know it would stay at all 9's when you get over 10 million, until after the fact. Thankfully they had bar stool chairs so I could sit for a while.

First ever for me was Pac-Man. My mom loved Pac-Man and took me to the arcade with her when I was 3 years old. She was pretty good at it, too. After I got a little older the other game I liked playing was Spy Hunter.

I recall somewhat vividly the first time my mom gave me 2 quarters to play the 2 arcade games at the local Kmart, in the entryway. The first quarter went into the Omega Race - had no clue really what to do, but it was cool. Then the second quarter went into the Death Race 2000, and it was AWSOME! :D but.. mom didn't think so.. Anyhow, that Christmas we received the Atari 2600.

The first game I beat was Adventure. Also, around that time, I flipped the score on the 2600 version of Asteroids.

Not too long after that, I finished a race on the local bowling alley's Pole Position. Fast Forward 30 years or so, and I bought that exact Pole Position from the operator who had it in the bowling alley. :)

First game I ever played was asteroids and it's also the first game I owned, I think the first game I beat was vanguard

I'm glad you brought this thread back up because it's a good place to ask a question that has been bugging me forever. My first arcade game was something like Make Trax, except you played as a janitor with a pushbroom. I can't remember the name of it and can't find a reference to it online.

The first game I ever played, though, was Pong. It was my Dad's Sears model and it was fairly new at the time. There are pictures of me about 3 years old with this Pong. Mom did what moms always do and sold it in a garage sale in the 80s for probably about a quarter. :(

First game I ever beat was Legend of Zelda.

First game played was either Popeye or Donkey Kong 3 at Gizmos in Omaha Nebraska. Very cool arcade back in the 80's.

First game i beat was on the NES - Mega Man 2 followed by Duck Tales.

To this day Mega Man 1-3 are my favorites.

Probably like a lot of other people, the first NES game I beat was Super Mario Bros. That was when there wasn't any internet. All the tips and tricks were word of mouth. It felt like more of an accomplishment to beat a game...

Now, get off my lawn!

I totally forgot the first game I beat! It was Montezuma's Revenge on a Apple //c!
Aw man, reading your post again makes me realize the first game I beat was Autoduel on the Apple //c. I loved that game and still do. I get it out every once in a while a play it again. Misty water colored memories...

First game I played was Pole Position on the 2600. The first game I remember beating is Ninja Mission on the Amiga. I still have fond memories of that game, anyone who hasn't played it should check it out.

First game I remember playing was that oddball home system..... the one where you put the colored overlays on your TV screen, I can't recall the name of it.
(unless that old handheld football game counts).

First game I remember beating was Pitfall 2.

First game was a Pong cocktail clone in 1973. Was mind blowing at the time.

Sure was a long time ago.
