Came in a Galaxian cab, but doesn't look original (though I guess it could be).

Wells-Gardner K4500, and it's original.

That's a delta gun tube, like you'd find in a 1960s color TV, so named because the guns are arranged in a triangle formation. The pots on that PCB on the neck are to adjust convergence.

Later, everything moved to "in-line" tubes, with the guns in a row. When they first came out, they were so much easier to set up that they marketed them as "self-converging."

I believe that's an old Wells Gardner K4500

Yep, Missile Command cockpit had a G02, which is a delta tube. Safe bet that whatever giant color games Atari made in the 70s had them as well, Tank 8, Indy 800, etc.

19" and smaller TVs were mostly in-line by the late '70s, and by the 1980s most manufacturers had shifted completely. There were a few 1980s delta sets in larger sizes, but uncommon, as they were being squeezed from both directions. Inline sets were much simpler (=cheaper), so they took over the low end, while the Trinitron owned the high end.

So, the cap replacing took forever. The adjustments were surprisingly easy, though. Probably the easiest converging I've ever had to do. Lots of pots, but the Galaxian manual tells you which pot adjusts what part of the screen.
I'd post a pic of it totally adjusted, but the gameboard died on me shortly after I was done adjusting.
Here's a pic toward the end of the adjustments. Just had to get the top right Red in line, and I was done.

WOW - you actually capped a K4500??

The one that came with my Galaxian needs it BAD, and there's a few pots on the neck board that don't adjust anything either. Not sure if that's due to bad pots or bad caps. Did you find that adjusting anything became easier after capping? Or was it the same?

Nice job, either way. Most folks would probably told you to scrap that monitor and put something newer in there.

I didn't even try to adjust it before swapping out the caps. It was bad.
I didn't do the VR201 pot inversion either. Turns out there is a hole on the board that allows you to get to it from the solder side using a standard tv adjustment tool.

I did miss one Cap when ordering for it. C736 was a different value, so I left the original.

I'm glad I kept the monitor. Looks great, is original, and should last a good long time.
