I have some friends who need a monitor fixed - it's showing vertical collapse. However, I don't see any identifying marks or stickers to show me what it is. Here are some photos - anyone have any suggestions? I'd never seen a monitor that had the pots plug in separately on a card like this one has.

Any help would be appreciated!

vertical circuits are kinda simple I think. you're pulling a voltage off the flyback to power the vertical IC, that voltage has to pass through some diodes and resistors. I mean, it's easy to envision in my head for a K7000, that thing might be a little more complicated. it's a 50/50 shot if it's the IC itself that's bad; I'd lean more towards the stuff in the circuit.

Hantarex Polos for instance drive those resistors very hot and they just burn out over time.

Thanks for the insight. There might be a toasted resistor or two on the chassis I'll look at.

check the board for cold solder, especially on that header for the pot board.

this, another way to sink your vertical deflection is a bad V. Size pot or a bad connection to one.

I wanna say I accidentally smashed a V. Hold pot on a K7000 remote and it did the same thing for whatever reason... I wouldn't think they were related, but whatever.
