Somewhere there was a link to photos of all the different chassis, but I can't seem to find it. The monitor is from a World Series of Baseball game. Any help IDing this turkey would be appreciated.

Your pics don't show enough to be positive, but here is what it could be:

Wells 4600 if its got (2) cards that plug into the chassis.
Wells 4900 if no cards.

Side-mounted horizontal width coil in pic 1 is a dead giveaway.

4600 series. You can also see glimpses of the daughter cards.

Your last pic shows a card and the chassis is on a normal k4600 monitor frame.

My guess without seeing an overall picture would be that it's a K4600.

You guys never fail to impress me. We should seriously start some kind of game show or something, where you can show off your skills to the world. You could play like name that tune, only instead of notes, you'd say how many photos you need to ID it.

Also, in picture 4, the anode wire (red wire) is covering a number. That number is 69x0984-100. Had you input that number into Google, you would have received several hits referencing the 4600 series monitor.

Definitely a 19K4625 or 19K4626 monitor. (horizontal frame tells us this).

Save this link for future reference, in case you need to work on the daughter cards.

Also, BE VERY CAREFUL when working around that horizontal width coil on the side of the monitor chassis. If you break it, there's no replacements available.

not true.

they may look different but a 4900 and K7000 19" are the same coil.

I'm aware of the similarities between the K7xxx and the 4900 coils, Buffett, but the OP has a 4600. Different coil.

That said, it IS possible to use the K7xxx coil on a 4600 chassis. I've done it. But it looks like ass.

i understand that,

what i am saying is they are direct replacements for that coil if it gets broke.

it works and i have seen it done.

And as I said, it looks like ass. It's a completely different case type, and there's no way to properly attach the coil to the original mounting bracket. You end up having to 'suspend' the replacement coil from the side of the chassis somehow, which just invites the possibility of shorting it out or damaging it again.

What a terrible design by WG. Ick.

i agree terrible design.

but if it gets broke you gotta do what you gotta do to make it work.

You should see some of the brain surgery we needed to do on a chassis that Phetishboy brought over on Saturday night.

This chassis was supposedly 'professionally repaired' by someone else, and it had 4 lifted/cracked solder pads and traces that needed fixing. Some were so badly damaged that we actually had to jumper the components to the next one in line.

Big thanks to Chris25810 on the assistance. He managed to clear the fog in his head just long enough to affect one more monitor chassis repair. :D

I was too busy drinking to take pics. But Shawn's got the chassis (Phetishboy) so he can snap pics of the damage if he wants.

I love how we've all derailed the OP's thread. Hilarious.

hey i do not drink so a good derailment is good sometimes.

takes the edge off life.

HOW BOUT THEM REDSKINS!!!!!!!!!!!
