Home powder coating & blasting setup for under $300

Wondering if anyone is doing their own powder coating?

Looking forward I'll be doing a fair bit of powder coating on my refurbs and I've been seeing some fantastic little home setups that people have put together for very little money.

-$60 you can get a nice little powder paint gun from HF with the power supply and grounding cable.
-$80 you can pick yourself up an extra large size toaster oven from pretty much anywhere which keeps you at 110v for convenience.
-$110 on eBay you can get a 80psi benchtop 25 gallon sandblast cabinet shipped to your door.
-$50 for a 3+ gallon compressor on Craigs List

I'm sure you could find the toaster oven and compressor for next to nothing on CL

This is a really tempting idea to set up for the cost of having just a few sets of parts done at a local shop.

I thought about doing this myself.. I probably will in the future but have to wait until I get my own place.. Roommate wont have it... :/

True. Someone in my area who was powder coating in his garage had to stop because his neighbors started to complain.

yeap.
Do it all the time here.
I patiently waited for the HF gun and the HF sandblasting hoods to go on sale. They do regularly. Then I buy them.

As far as an oven; I used a toaster oven for small parts like bolts / nuts.
And for larger items I use a old kitchen oven I got for free on CL. It's wired into the same circuit as my dryer (next to garage); so I can run it at 220.
