Going to go look at one of these tonight, I think. Looks interesting if a bit cheesy, owner says it "doesn't play and needs a new servo" according to his brother. I'm thinking there's a crapped switch, broken wire, or fried solenoid...says it powers on.

Just curious about the gameplay. Didn't look that bad from youtube, but seems to be a fairly uncommon machine that could have some bang-for-the-buck to it... he's selling it for 400$ OBO. Average ebay price is around 650. I don't think I'll get it if he's hard on the 400$ mark.

Pretty rare Date East pin - I heard a lot of them were exported. I believe it was the one right after Laser War.

Never played one before, but like any rare pin... parts are not going to be easy accessible (ramps, plastics).

Well, they say it's in good condition but you know how that is. :)

It's all wire habitrails from what I can tell, so shouldn't be any big deal there....how often do those things break? Pop bumper caps can always be replaced with generics. Plastics...well...lets hope they're in good condition and then I can put some protectors under them. From comments on IPDB seems like this game requires really strong flippers so broken plastics is pretty common..bummer.

Rottendog has a replacement MPU, but first one I found is 300$, ouch, lol!

Just set an appt with the guy to go look at it. :)

I think the only real worry on wireforms is the weld breaking in spots...

Good luck!

Pretty dang sure my mom's husband can weld. I know I've seen his welders visor around and he's done body/frame work on his own drag racer, so I would hope he could do that...lol.

If it's not working I wouldn't go higher than $250 and even at that price you'd really have to want a project. I'd go as high as $500 if it's WATW and only if the game had a cool gimmick which the sinking mechanical boat might be.

Meh, $400 is a fair price if the game shows signs of life and doesn't look like it just came back from a tour of Beiruit. Common parts are always available, but game specific parts for that thing may be tough to find. I'd beat the price down if:

-any displays were bad
-acid damage or hacked boards
-it looks cosmetically poor

The gane does kind of suck BTW, but the chick on the backglass has a freakin sweet ass.

I got parts from one of these awhile back, everything but the cab(I think owner had used it for a PinMAME...not sure).

I THINK I still have all the wireform habitrails, the green and yellow(?) bumper caps, all the under PF light boards and some of the metals and maybe the drop target bank(I think it's for this game), I think I already sold the plastics etc. I'd have to look and see what I have left.

Check it out and let me know what you'd need, most of the remaining parts I have are(still) free to a good home...just cover shipping.

Game powered on, CPU board gave a solid light but no actual "blink". The guy would not come down past 350$ from 400$. The playfield and glass were dirty as fuck, but it had full playfield mylar.....he cleaned a little bit of it while I was there, it would've come clean just fine..

Art on the sides was pretty much immaculate with minor nicks on the corners....nice bloody-bright reds and vibrant blues. They said they bought it in 92...4 years after it was released. It's been sitting somewhere away from the sun, that's for damn sure.

I passed. 350+300$ for a replacement CPU board = 650$ for a game that averages around 600 on ebay anyways? No thanks. I probably could've had the board repaired and made some of that money back, but that's more than I wanted to spend on a project. I'll keep the money and save it towards something else or pay some more bills. =\

Shame, the youtube vids look like it has a good light show and sound effects. Would've liked to have seen it working. :(

It's actually a 2 part translite...the part with the killer whale etc is a separate piece over some flashers.

I agree, it's horrible...just a cheesy ass photo.

I think the artwork is funny... do tell me those chicks dressed like that just for the photo... they look more like they wanna get boned.
