Sadly, I guess now that he is gone, it would be pretty bad ass to own one. Who else is thinking this? :)

I really LOVED Michael when I was a kid. And now I feel like I need to own one of these! Ugh.

Isn't that the penis game? Probably not many collector's willing to admit they have one.

Penis game? I don't get it. I played the game on the Genesis or whatever Sega console that was and thought it was pretty bad ass. But, that was a long ass time ago. :)

I considered myself a casual fan of MJs work. And as fondly as I remembered this game, I would not recommend buying this particular piece of his work. If you haven't played it in quite some time, there is a 2 legged ed209 looking robot in it that is just wrong on so many levels. Save your money, and keep your respect for MJ (not to mention your sanity), and just remember the good times. But hey, that's just my 2 bits.

My fiance and i both love MJs music...i would love to own one of these..even before this death i was looking. We are both sad about his death and will be playing a tribute to Mj at our wedding in Sept...RIP

The reference is about this robot in the arcade version of the game:

It pulsates and throbs aggressively at you as it fires.

I am rocking out "Off The Wall" right now. I loved Michael back in the day. Even had a "Beat It" jacket. :)

Was it something like this?

Before I get the stink eye for all this joking around I have "Don't Stop till You Get Enough" and "Working Day and Night" on my MAME cabinet jukebox list.

Think I need to rebuy the whole "Wall" disc from Amazon looking back at it.

Before the surgery started he had some very good music out there.

A collector friend of mine, Jani in Finland has a Moonwalker. I guess he was big in Finland also.

I had one of those jackets too, back in '83. I was a fan up to the Thriller album.

Funny enough, one was listed on Seattle craigslist for $1500 the day before he died:
http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/clt/1238185976.html

Here's the ad text in case the ad goes away:

This listing is for an original Michael Jackson's Moonwalker Arcade Game. 3 Player, Stand up, Arcade original. Complete with original coin acceptor. Also has original Marquee topper STILL IN ITS ORIGINAL PACKAGING (you will never find the foamboadr topper in better shape (new) or with its shipping carton like this). Also included are a the original Manual, and reproductions of the japanise instruction decal and the USA marketing flyer thaat I have added to the package. Plays excellently, all controlls work, Monitor is in good shape, All coin slots function, and in general a great machine with very low hours in service before it went into private hands. Photo is for refrence and shows what the marquee would look like on the machine if you chose to open the original packaging. Because of this it is a photo of a diffrent machine.

Listed far below its current low market collcetor value, this is a chance to get a collectable piece of Movie, Music, and Arcade History all in one shot. Lack of space forces sale, my loss is your gain.

That is a sweet game. When you turn into Robo-Michael. Smooth Criminal is classic.

The Sega Genesis version was way different.

I had one , but someone converted it to a Neo Geo 1 slot before I got it . I was gonna convert it back but sold it . It is a pretty big cab , but didn't have a large back door like most games , just a small probably 2 foot by 2 foot square door right behind the monitor you pulled off to get inside , which made it a pain to work on things .

I haven't played the arcade version in more than a decade, but I remember it being WAY better than the Genesis version. I have a ROM of the Genesis game on my PSP. It's fun, but repetitive, and impossibly difficult towards the end.

I can play it on my MAME cabinet. It MAMEs very well so if you never played the arcade version, you could give that a try.

I also have a broken marquee that I found in a basement raid.

Hey, we could build a virtual Moonwalker machine...I'll start...

I have a marquee, who else has parts?

I have an original Moonwalker cabinet. It's my first arcade game and it's really awesome + I'm a big Michael Jackson fan. :)

I sold my Moonwalker pcb two weeks ago....poor timing I guess. It brought in just over $50 (working).

I had never played the game until testing it and found it to be.....(yawn). The music in the game and his occasional (he heeeeeee) was about the most redeeming part of game play.

The penis robot was annoying as hell....it would bump you across the damn room. I was able to finish the game (on free play of course) in about 7 minutes.

You're not missing much.

After all these years, I'm so glad to have kept all my MJ records....even have an MJ doll sporting the red zipper jacket. Those will be sticking around.

R.I.P MJ
