Seems to be favorably rated at ipdb. I loved this show as a kid. Does anyone have one? How does it hold up over time?, in a small collection? Any technical/maintenance gotchas?

Thanks.

There was one of these at a concert venue I went to a couple of years ago and it was also broken. I don't think I ever got to play it.

They will have the typical Data East GI Issue, and the sound will buzz when the game isn't being played.

I did get to play one at the Rocky Mountain Pinball Showdown last spring, and it was a fun game. I can't vouch for longevity, but I have found that if you like the theme, you will live longer with the quirks that the game has.

I have one and actually just live up the street in Sacramento ;-)

It's nice and fun.

KNOWN ISSUE = Nell Log (motor burns out or gets weak and won't pull nell)

It's simply a HORRIBLE design and theres really no solid new re-design for it (as it would obviously have a limited market) but it really does not effect gameplay at all

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I'd probably take the chance on it's longevity just because it's Rocky and Bullwinkle. And I really appreciate insight like the Nell log!

For the few times I have played it I really enjoyed it. If I came across a good deal I would add it to my collection. Like most themed machines I guess you would have to have watched the cartoon to appreciate its integration into the game.

Looks neat but how do you people feel about pinballs like this that don't have a plunger to fire the ball? Something just doesn't sit right with me when a pinball machine doesn't have a plunger (that includes the ones with gun handles too) Probably just me.

I agree with you about pins without pull back plungers, It's a feeling of lack of control with a push button launch. As with a pull back plunger can control how hard of a launch you want.

I am OK as long as there is some other control mechanism such as a rotating turret you are shooting through or a target that is shifting like in LW. My Spooksville doesn't have a plunger but the ball cycles back and forth along a horizontal lane and is dropped by depressing both flipper buttons simultaneously.

Nah, not just you. I'd prefer they all have plungers, but I wouldn't pass up on a nice pin because it didn't have one.

My gripe is the pins that have plungers that have nothing to shoot at, for example, TMNT, Checkpoint, Space Jam, and I am sure that there are others. All that you can do is pull the plunger back full and let go, no timing, no shot to hit, nothing. In those cases just give me a button to push.

yeah I am still waiting for the invite to come and knock your high scores off of it.

I want one of these, adn don't think it would get old

Pin's that use a button to fire the ball than a plunger i actually prefer (as long as they do cool stuff for the button, like the gun on JP or Last Action Hero)

But ONLY as long as the skill shot is still fun. Generic skill-shots with a button are really lame because you do have no control.

P.S. TronGuy Get your ass over and lets play some pinball! :)

Yeah, we have one in our local CL for $1400. I'm not sure of book on these things, though the $1100 is closer to what I'd pay..but shipping to NH would jack it up close to or past the $1400.

All the good deals happen where I am not! (isn't that always the case :)

Yeah, I'm not saying $1000 isn't a fair price if it's in good shape, I just don't have the cash right now! :p

There is one at the Boise Airport that I've played a couple times. I'd consider it a mediocre pin. I have a DE Star Wars, and it's been fairly reliable, and when mine is in attract mode, it will play an advertisement for the Bullwinkle pin on the DMD.
If you are a Bullwinkle fan, than you will probably like it. The DE Star Wars pin is not one of the best either, but as a Star Wars fan, I love it.
Bottom line is, being a fan of the theme can greatly increase your enjoyment of the pin.

LW3 plays an advert for Tales From the Crypt. It is the coolest part of the pin by far! Totally caught us off guard while we were eating dinner at the pub table when TFTC theme started blaring behind us. Flashers on the game were going off and everything.
