Anyone other than arcadecup that I can send my chassis to ?

Arcade cups turn around is a bit longer than I can work with. I guess I can wait if I have to. Is there anyone else with as good a reputation that can fix my chassis and provide a quick turn around ? Thanks ~ john

bsdpinball asked a very good question.

I have a g07 and a 4600 that could use some love.

I am more interested in getting the g07 fixed than the 4600.

(I have 2 4600 chassis)

If your G07 is complete but not worked on, I'll trade you a rebuilt G07-CBO chassis for it for $70 shipped. This includes new flyback, hi-temp capacitors (all Nichicon brand capacitors, and all replaced). Bench tested for at /least/ 24 hours.

I think modessitt started doing some repair work.

P.M. Steve/Modessit.

Yes, I do repairs on (right now) K7000's (standard res), 4600's, 4900's/5500's (standard res), G07's, 7400's, U2000's, U5000's, and 6100's - mainly because I have easy stuff for testing them. I can work on lots of other models, too - even the dreaded D9200 - if I have a tube/yoke for testing, but most people don't want to ship me an entire monitor. This list may change as I sort through everything I have.

Most of the time I can turn them in a week or two, but not always, and I give no guarantees on a timeframe. Sometimes it's very fast. Other times I end up tracking down some bastard problem that takes a while to solve.

Regardless of the amount of time it actually takes me to fix it, for the above monitors, I charge $50 + parts + shipping. If you have already installed a flyback/cap kit/etc - then the parts may be nothing - as it could be a trace problem that you can't figure out yourself. If you already have the parts and want to send them along, that also saves you money on my end. Most of my parts prices are the same as Bob Roberts, as I get a lot of my stuff from him (but not all).

For a G07, your best bet would be to go with the $70 trade mentioned above. A G07 rebuild requires a new transformer if yours is original (even if it still works) as it will most likely fail very soon after a full cap replacement. My cost to you would be:

G07 Repair - $50
Parts - Flyback $20, Cap Kit - $5, HOT (if needed) $5, VR (if needed) $5, Fuses (if needed) $1, Horizontal Width Coil (if needed) $10
Return Shipping to you (Large Priority Mail in Lower 48) - $14

It's up to you to decide what's worth it to you...

They're not THAT bad, are they? We have two, they've blown color transistors but I haven't seen any other issues.

Wait until you get one that goes "tick tick tick".

For some reason a lot of places won't work on them. Plus, the one's I've seen have had a bonded yoke, so you actually have to have the entire tube/yoke handy to test it. Can't just swap the yoke onto a test tube like you can with a bunch of other models...

It is a WG K7191 25". already replaced flyback, caps, HOT, and voltage regulator. Will be Pm'ing you now.

This chassis is fixed. Solder trace issue, broken Vert Pos pot (not causing the problem) and a misinstalled HOT (still making contact and not causing the problem).

Been running just fine for the past 3 hours...
