I've sent a few emails to epromman (from epromman.com), but I haven't gotten any response. I've ordered from him a few times in the past, but probably not in the last 2-3 years... just wondering if he's still around.

I know some people don't like his stuff, but honestly, at his price I don't mind having to clean/erase the chips, and unbend a few pins. I like to have a large assortment of EPROMs laying around, so I have what I need when I need it.

I got an order from him shortly after the holidays, so he was still in business 2 months ago...

I will say that the packing method (rubber banded together) was considerably less than desirable, and yeah I had to straighten out a LOT of legs since >2/3 of the chips were jacked up. However, I think only 2 ended up in the trash out of 50 or so, and the price is indeed right. I have since found a local with thousands of NOS tubed chips, so I probably won't need to order from him again, but all things considered, I would.

I think it took about a week or so to hear back from him, I recall wondering if he was still around as well.

I placed an order not that long ago. No issues. Why not e-mail him first? He seems to respond quickly.

i emailed him a few weeks ago for some 27c512's, and got a response back a couple of days later that he would be out of the office until feb. 21st, and to email him after that and he'd deal with it then. I wanted the eproms faster than that so i bought some on ebay. Cost me more, but i got them before the 21st.

I ordered from him in Jan., 24 hr turnaround on emails and 1 week to ship. Yeah the leg-straightening sessions do get old, but the price is right. :)

Thanks guys... I'll wait a couple more days for a reply... if I still don't hear from him, I'll hit him up again. Good to hear he's likely still around.

I've actually emailed him 3 times in the last couple weeks, but no replies. The first two were simple questions... but I figured maybe he didn't want to bother answering questions, so I sent him my order, but still no reply. Hopefully he didn't block me for asking questions (like the EPROM Nazi or something ;) ).

Yep... I still haven't gotten anything back either :/ . I don't need the chips bad enough that I'll pay "retail" from ebay or anything, but I would like to stock up on some chips so I can burn new ROMs rather than erasing originals.

I still have not heard back yet. Im giving up

I figured I would wait another week then threaten a paypal claim, then file a paypal claim.

It sucks it's come to this. I've dealt with him in the past and this time I could really use the EPROMs. I ordered several hundred pieces. Buying them from another source is going to be a real PITA.

I have ordered from him about 5 times. Communication is hit and miss. He has like 3 or 4 different email addresses he uses. I just copy them all when I email him. He has always come through in the end even after I almost gave up once.

Doh. :( I just sent him another email a few days ago, but no response again. Is there a long version of the story?

The story has a somewhat happy ending. I don't have the EPROMs I need so it's not that happy but I'm also not out any money. Other than maybe some paypal fees.

The semi-long version is that I placed and order for approx. 500 EPROMs. I waited a couple weeks and emailed for an update getting a response right away. Then I emailed again a couple weeks later and was directed to someone else who replied immediately then ignored weekly emails for over a month. At that point I decided to open a complaint with paypal which I couldn't because it had been more than 45 days. At that point I sent an email basically stating that I wanted a refund or my EPROMs, copying all the email addresses I had and I received a refund. The timeline might be off slightly but that's what happened.

The owner was away for medical reasons and I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because I've dealt with them before and I'm going to try to place my order again this week.

I finally got a reply back... it looks like they're closed, at least for a while:

Eprom man has discontinued the sale of eproms for the foreseeable future. We are effecting a administrative shutdown of all quotes, orders and shipments.
Eprom man.

If the price is too high, please call with target price. We'll beat it if we can!!
Thank You,

Interesting... I just got an email today from Dennis saying he's been out for a while, but he's back and taking orders again.

DogP

Just to update... I placed an order for some EPROMs and received them today, so it seems that he's back. I'm not sure, but you may need to email him at his yahoo address (the one that the link actually emails to from his website), not the gmail one (I sent a couple emails that went unanswered to his gmail, but got a quick reply from his yahoo).
