I'm going out that way for a couple weeks and was curious if anyone knows of a local(or semi-local) arcade?

The two guys I'm going with are drinkers and I've really gotten away from that life style so I'd rather just find an arcade and play some games. :D (yeah, sad... I know...)

Thanks in advance, :beerchug:

Hey Jeff I love it out there, I had a place in Garden Grove back in the early 90s :(.
Just go to the beach or (Hunington) or drive up and down PCH1.
Im getting bummed out thinking about moving away from there.

For classic games I think you're pretty much out of luck unless you want to drive an hour plus to Orange or L.A. County. I'm 45 minutes South of Temecula in San Marcos (North San Diego County), let me know if you'd like to visit my small Condocade. Weekends would be best, I'm out of town working an hour and a half away in Riverside during the week.

anybody remember the reagan years arcade in fullerton

RIP reagan years :(

i really miss the reagan years. we used to go to the coffee shop up front at the HUB, get a coffee, watch some local bands play, then go back and play some games in the reagan years. they had a great working star wars, tron, dragon's lair, galaga, super pac, qbert, super mario bros pin, gorf, heavy barrell, and others. one of our own klovers (keith) used to fix all the reagn years arcade games back in it's hayday. chris

yes indeed it was very cool place i do believe it its where i said to myself i want to own some of these games . hence the start of my hobby with it . i bet i probably seen you there and didnt even know it!! i used to eat at the place called rutabegahs i belive its called then go play star wars and dragons lair. that place was the shit in my opinon .

Awesome information guys... THANKS! :beerchug:

I'll PM the folks who offered me a chance to stop by once I'm settled in the hotel. I'm thinking the weekend of the 10th and 11th would work best since I'm pretty sure the class I'm taking goes to 5 or 6pm. And I can't even begin to imagine how the traffic is during the evening rush hour. :) (I'm from upstate NY where there are cows and country roads)

There's an arcade auction about 30 minutes from your location on the 10th in case you have room in your suitcase heading back to NY.

y'all could stop by my garcade, the killer kegerator and coke machine would keep you refreshed, granted my arcade is small 10 games and kiss pinball, but the beer, crown royal and sodas are great

Awesome! :beerchug: Not sure what is going on now tomorrow... seems like we might go to San Diego in the morning and then maybe LA. I'm torn about going to LA since it almost seems like we're not really going to be stopping for any length of time but I dunno.

Last night I got a chance to head to that Game Point Arcade and geeze... it's HUGE! I got a bunch of pictures and after walking through it for 15 minutes I realized that there were only two other people in there... which was pretty sad. Tons of cool games. I want to go back this weekend to see if there's a weekend crowd.

I guess there's a decent sized car show in Temecula tomorrow also so I'd like to see that.

Man... lots to do here! :)

[edit]
I have to add that the weather here is absolutely fantastic. Around 50F at night and 70-75F during the day... that's perfect in my book! And man... I've seen the sun more this past week than the whole summer in NY. :D

Loved it. Great games!

Now, there's almost nothing...although there was a good "in the wild" collection on top of Big Bear at the Big Bear Arcade this spring. Not many places you can play Galaxian in a M.A.C.H. 3 sitdown cabinet and step into a Environmental D.O.T. anymore - but you could at Big Bear a few months ago, if not today.

We got back too late for that Rod Run and I'm bummed!!! Our instructor, who's from Chicago btw, went to it and said it was fantastic! Seems like the entire Old Town was packed car-to-car.

But, we did hit Hollywood in the morning and Venice Beach in the afternoon so all was not lost. Traffic wasn't too bad so it didn't take too long getting from one place to the other.

Funniest part of the day was me blurting out "No sh&t... there's the Vivid Studios!!!" and the two guys I'm with supposedly NOT knowing what they were. I know I'm an almost 40 year old man... but the delinquent side of me wanted to stop back and have my picture taken in front of the building. :D

I was worried about there not being much to do and I'm finding that time is flying by and I'm doubting I'll get to do everything I planned now. Great place you CA peoples have! :beerchug:

(I still can't get over the weather... I mean it's been sunny every day this past week. You don't get that in Maine, NY... EVER!!!) ;)
