Anyone near Danville/Champaign, IL know an arcade collector named KARL??

Hey Illinois and area guys,
I'm wondering if anyone knows an arcade collector near Champaign/Danville IL by the name of Karl?! The very strangest thing EVER to happen to me in my life may have just happened...

Now I am currious. What happened? PM me if you prefer to keep it quiet and personal. By the way, I do not know any one named Karl.

I know what it is....Someone told him to come pick up a warehouse full of abandoned arcade games! That's gotta be it!
No. Something so eerie and oddball its about a one in a billion chance. I don't want to post too much info incase someone is messing with me... but the evidence pretty much has me convinced so far.

You located your doppelganger?! :eek::eek::001_ssuprised:

Bump, this is pretty important to me, it could determine my vacation route and destination next summer...

Sorry, no idea here, no listings for a Karl in the VAPS database in IL either. You may want to check with Jeff Rothe over at coinopspace, he knows a lot of collectors around this area... or you could post something in the midwest collectors group over there see if there's anyone else who knows him...http://www.coinopspace.com/group/midwestcollectors

Champaign is only 35 miles from me. With me selling games for 10 years and averaging 250 games a year. I think that it would be hard for me not to know a collector that is that close to me. So I doubt that there is someone there. But there could be. Also, Champaign is a huge college town, University of Illinois, so maybe its someone that goes to school there.

Hope you find what your looking for

Thanks for the tip, just shot over there and posted it... hopefully I can find out its legit, this would be the freakiest trip ever to take and certainly newsworthy!

Its not for a game pickup so much as the story of my life! He would be 27 years old, has about a 20 game collection... I'm not surprised there wouldn't be a VAPS listing (I tried too) because I mentioned KLOV and he had never heard of it, but he said he checked it out. I just want to see that the guy exists and that it isn't a pipe dream or another collector screwing with me and my head, or a scammer who is slowly probing me for info.

He sent me some pictures of it and looks really cool! If its real it would be setup in the lobby of an old closed down bank with brick walls inside and a huge vault door which I could clearly see in the pics. In his pics inside the bank lobby he had an EDOT, Double Dragon in Taito cab, a Dartboard, Virtua Fighter, R.P.M., Punch-Out!!, Karate Champ, Centipede, Hypersports, Football cocktail and an old Coke soda pop machine...

Why would he contact you???
seems there would be people closer willing to pay for those
Again, this isn't for a game deal...
He just happens to also collect games?! What are the odds?!
BTW, I did ask, EDOT is not for sale! :D

Quit being a drama queen and tell us, or quit bumping the thread.
Post a little more info and it might jog someones memory, if it is not a game deal then you don't have to worry about anyone buying them out from under you.

If you think it is your long lost kid then hire a detective.

email address something like 'writetokarl'?

Hahahaha... I don't have much more info and the rest of the story doesn't help any. Not worried about losing a game deal, there is none... I just want to keep the story under wraps incase it is a legit thing, it would be the weirdest and most coincidental story of my life or that I've ever heard.

Do you have a possible last name?

I don't have an email address. Just a name and a city. I've looked in the white pages and the name does match that city, but since I'm so far away it would be VERY easy for someone around KLOV to be messing with me or even a nigerian scammer with good spelling and a over perfect scheme.

The guys story seems to check out, yet I'd imagine someone with 20 games SOMEONE in the area would have sold him a game or heard of him, bought one, etc...

Game deal or not, I would still ask the same question
Why would they contact you out of the blue??
If it is too good to be true, then proceed with caution:001_ssuprised:
