Anyone make Replacement Kortek K1-2-V0 Horizontal Width Coil

Mine won't budge, and I have a suspicion that the ferrite core inside may be in a fragment or two. I also did the dumb move of putting a regular Allen wrench in mine. I didn't really force it, and I also tried a plastic tool I had and it still wouldn't budge. I also tried a few things in Bob Roberts tutorial to try and get it to move. Anyway I couldn't find one online, so I thought I'd see if anyone had any tips on where to find one... or had a working one on.

I finally got a chance to call CasinoTech today, and tried to order the horizontal width coil. I gave them a part number for the coil that I found in an Imperial manual on the internet, and it didn't match anything on record. I also gave them the K1-2-V0 board # which also didn't show up in any records. They asked me to provide a Kortek monitor model # that uses this part, so that they might find the part I needed. Since my monitor isn't techincally a Kortek, I was wondering if anyone here can give me the model # of a Kortek branded monitor that shares the horizontal width coil, or the PCB model #. I am going to call them on Monday, and I need a specific monitor model # that I can give them.

The lady I talked to said that since it was such an old monitor that they may not carry the part anymore. So if anyone knows of a replacement that I can use that would be greatly appreciated. Any other suggestions are also welcome.

Well, they're not so good about returning emails because I emailed them weeks ago about this, and they never responded. I'll offer them when I call on Monday though.

Casino Tech deals with literally HUNDREDS of monitors every week for casinos so they can't always respond to emails. It's always best to telephone them.

Thanks for the help Ken but they were unable to dig up any info on the model numbers I gave them. They did offer to sell me a replacement monitor if it came to the point where I needed one. Oh well, I'll just deal with the overscan for the time being and maybe pick up a replacement chassis if anyone here offers one up.

I know Bob doesn't have one listed on his website, but I may ask him i there's any other one I could use.

Thanks Ken, for the info. I finally emailed Joey the other day and he got right back to me.

Here is what he said.

Hi Mark ,

Betson in the US are Kortek agents http://www.betson.com/ , if they cant supply the parts you need then they are not available anywhere.

Regards,
Joey

Of course, I sent a message Betson, and they didn't return my email. It's probably the same deal as Casinotech, so I'll call them sometime next week. Thought I'd update this, in case someone else finds themselves looking for this part down the road.

Oh, also... I did contact Bob Roberts about this a while back asking him the same thing as I did in this thread, and he told me to swipe on off of a chassis. So Bob doesn't have anything that will work either.

Just got off the phone with Betson. I was transferred to one of the techs, because parts couldn't find any info on it. The tech says it's a common problem on the Kortek's but they are no longer able to get parts for them. They have to swipe them off of other chassis, if they need them.

So yeah, looks like the only way to go for these parts is used.
