Scramble was one of my favorites from BITD. I only have a boardset and adaptor for my vertical jamma, though. No dedicated upright. I love the sounds the best....
Since it does max out at 3rd stage, I don't think the WR is unattainable, even on the Stern board. Besides, you can't do it on a Konami, since you'd have to burn your own ROMs and TG would scoff at that.
I get sloppy on the 5th screen (tunnels?) where you're going from the bottom all the way to the top and then accelerate. I inadvertently will hit right AND up and crash into the top.
It's funny too... TG used to track the stern. But, in all their infinite wisdom, they decided not to track the (seemingly) most plentiful boardset I probably understand... since there were zero submissions on the version...
But many players really don't understand the two different versions thing...
Back to the fuel... On stern, if you miss the base the first chance, you're dead. On konami, there is still plenty of fuel for a second chance.
To be successful at hitting fuel tanks and the base, a player has to perfect the surgical "egg laying" bombing strike on targets... I luv Scramble
