Anyone Looking for a Fully Restored GORF?

That's a really nice looking restore! Great job! +1 for fellow GORF owner. Good luck with your sale!

Thanks guys. Yeah it is a sight to behold and it took a long time to get it that way. Anyone who has restored one of these machines knows what I mean.

Awesome looking Gorf machine!!!

So how can you tell the difference between ROM's? (Hard/Easy)....

With mine, it's during the Galaxian stage that you can really tell. The number of bullets each ship fires and the fact that the bullets drift with the ships making it damn difficult to shoot any diving ships without getting hit by at least one of them. That's where gorfchampion first noticed the difference.

Strange. Maybe that is why I suck at Gorf so bad.....or maybe not! ;)

I wonder if it is related to the game serial #.....mine is fairly high.....17,221.....

The Galaxian stage eventually crop dusts their shots and you'll notice even on the first loop, the first enemy will fall immediately upon entering the stage.

Eventually the Invaders stage will start the invaders so low that they will intertwine graphically with your shield turning a fuzzy whitish color.

On space warp there can be times when a single enemy will fire more than 5 fireballs at a time during a single attack

The flag ship fires back against the grain at times

The main threat enemies on laser warp (the 2 laser enemies) can move across the screen much much faster.

On the hard boardset, every stage can be dangerous, unlike the easy boardset and you'll likely notice the biggest change in the difficulty on the Galaxian stage.

I recall on my 56k game at the tourney it became almost laughable how many "seeds" the galaxian enemies were firing at a time.

Do you have any more pics?

Do you need more? It's funny, most people put stuff up for sale with no pics or one postage sized one turned sideways and people get pissed. Try to counter that backlash by getting as many clear and focused ones out there as you can and you get slammed. This place fucking blows.

They are just jealous of your awesome work. I love the photos, even though I kid.

Not to worry. Just being an ass today.

If the game were easier, I wouldn't be considering selling it, as I'd never find a nicer one.

You ever thought about putting a set of the "easy" ROMs into it? You/your kids would probably enjoy it more.

If you ever send me anything else for repair (and you still have the Gorf).....toss the "rank light board" along, and I'll fix it for you so your stick will light.

Oh yeah, BEAUTIFUL machine!

That is a deal Edward. In fact, You fix this rank board and my stick lights end up working, I'll keep the machine. Now, can anyone burn me the easy ROMs?

Come on, now......:p

Edward

Bahahahahaha, I lean on you too much. Time to go out on my own and seek my fortune. Ahhh, to hell with that noise, I'll send the board and you can just throw the roms in the box when you ship it back. I need to do something nice for you this year.

Well, that might not be as easy as it seems. There's two different versions of the ROM board.....not to mention ROMs vs. EPROMs....and the confusing Midway jumpering chart. Just send me the ROM board too.....trust me, it'll be easier this way. I'll do it quick, so your game won't be down too long.
