Hey, I am brand spankin new to the hobby, I picked up two machines, both older and broken, so I am just wondering if there is anyone on here local to the Northern Kentucky area that would be able to stop in one evening to help point me in the right direction (or let me know I'm wasting my time) to getting started...

I will of course compensate you for your time!!

Actually have two QIX II and Space Zap . QIX is the one at the top of my list, I hear the screen come on, but no video and no sound, I personally think its the power supply, but don't know where to start...

name of game and problem would help :)

If it is the old Taito Power Supply, I would bet that is the problem too. My advice, upgrade it to a switching power supply. I upgraded few taito's and they never had a prob since then.

Ok, I will order a switcher with conversion kit from arcadeshop.... One other rookie question, behind the power supply board, there is another board, it is where the main AC goes into the game, what is the purpose of that board? It looks like hell and if it has to stay in the machine I would honestly like to replace it, the big transformer with the 6 or so wires going into it looks like something out of a Frankenstein movie lol!

The power board has 2 boards. They can be removed with the installation of a switcher (going by Elevator Action/Jungle King).
