Anyone local have a nice burn free 19" monitor for my Gorf for a good price.Sno,Wa.

My gorf monitor works great but it has allways had some burn from another game that bugs me when your playing the Space invaders portion. So I'm looking for a really nice burn free monitor with a great picture. Gorf is vertical so if you have a vertical monitor that would be great I cant remember if a horizontal one turned sideways will work but I dont think so due to it allready uses a bumpout in the back due to lack of room.Thankyou....Dave

a horizontal monitor with side mounting brackets will work just fine; the bumpout was made to accommodate it as the only other style of frame available at the time (vertical) does not have brackets on the top and bottom to mount in Gorf.

the newer universal mount with brackets on all four sides will also work, possibly without utilizing the bumpout.

unfortunately, i too am looking for a nice low-or-no burn tube for my Gorf as the burn bothers me on the same level.

Hey thankyou for the info so great a horizontal sounds like its what supposed to be in there. I havnt looked in mine in allong time so I couldnt remember which it is.So yah if anyone has one let me know....Dave

Why not just do a tube swap? If the monitor is working fine and just has burn it may be more cost effective and easier to swap the tube. There are local TV recyclers that will let you take old TV's and swap tubes. I did a few last year. - Barry

Hmmm, yah it works fine. I dont know a whole lot about swapping tubes I think they have to be the same impedence or something like that and the yoke board thing has to be the same. Not sure if I want to get into all of that :)
