Anyone listing games for sale at outrageous prices?

Anyone listing games for sale at outrageous prices on Craigslist or eBay just to see if you'll get a bite? I am. I've got my Tempest cabaret up on CL for $1200!! Also got my Spy Hunter up for $550.

Do I expect to get this much money? No. Is there a chance some rich person may stumble upon my listing and want a last-minute Christmas present? Yes.

Some will probably lambaste me for being "un-ethical", but I am of the mindset of if you can sell it at that price, more power to ya. Share.

Rich people don't shop on Craig's List. They buy from a vendor. Like Betson

Cause they have money. But I could be wrong.

Most, yes. However, I just had a lady buy a multicade from me for her husband for Christmas. They live in a huge mansion and were back to the future collectors. They owned a delorian and the actual BMW from BF:II. She found me on Craigslist. It takes all kinds in my experience.

Last year I sold my Jurassic Park pin for $1800, which is about $500 above value. I think around the holidays it's easier to get more for your stuff.

Spyhunter

If the Spyhunter is 100% working with a decent cab, $550 is not overpriced IMO. I have sold some games to very wealthy people on Craigslist in the past. Usualy the sme people will pay $100-$200 to have you deliver it and set it up 15 miles away.

Nice. But I would miss my games!

WoooHOoo! Merry Christmas to me! I just got back from delivering my Tempest Mini to a gentleman and his wife for $1200, plus $40 for delivery!

Congrats on the sale. Neither of those prices are outrageous. If someone wants the game and can't find it around then what's wrong with paying a premium for it? Happens all the time. Merry Christmas!

P.S. Offering a warranty can help you to justify those kinds of prices as well but not always worth it....

I had considered listing a game at an outrageous price... but I think I would miss them, regardless of how much I sell them for.

Ditto, I have a hoarding complex. I can't sell my games, console too. That is why I have a huge collection of console games and systems. I hardly play them. At least it is neat and not like those people on those hoarding shows.

I cant stand to part with my games. Congrats on your sale, and I do commend you for bringing the prices back up on our treasures, even if only for a moment.

A $1200.00 game is much less likely to be parted/multied/thrown out than a $200.00 game.

Bravo.

Anything is only worth what someone will pay for it.
Hense, if those games are worth it to someone, they will pay. If not, then you value it more than they do.

Good thing the money I made from the sale is going right back into more games so I can fill the void :) Honestly, I'm saving up for an "A-List" pinball machine, or maybe even a NIB Stern Pinball. That is, if I can wait that long :)

Agreed. If it's truly 100% working with a nice cab then that's a decent price.

By the time I got done truly making mine 100% I had a lot more than that invested in it.

I have a Tron on Craigs list...

I just finished a Tron. Stuck it on Craigs list for 1500.00. It is in good shape! You can always hope :) I figure if you can't sell it local you can always have it for sale on E-bay. Hard to sell games in Wyoming, but it's worth a try! Mery Christmas to you all!!
