I just found one of these for sale locally, along with several other shooters, such as the original Time Crisis, Crisis Zone and Ranger Mission. I chose L.A. Machineguns, with Crisis Zone being a close second since it was cheap. I haven't played it much but the force feedback pedestal seems like a cool addition to the realism. Should be simple to convert to other Model 3 games like Ocean Hunter, no?

You should be able to run Ocean Hunters in there, provided you can find a boardset. That board is gonna be pricey, though. It is usually cheaper to buy a whole Ocean Hunters cab than to buy just the board.

Not in a big hurry to do that, but maybe someone will be parting one out someday.

ive never seen the game and klov has no pics you should submit some pics so people like me know what game your talking about :)

Pics and info here.

I've not seen one in person, but the combination of the sub-woofers in the platform and the feedback machine guns sounds really awesome. I hope to find one someday.

Super fun shooter! There is one on location in the bowling alley down the street from my house, its the deluxe versionlike yours with the dual gun pedal. I always drop a buck in it when I go bowling, if I had room and could find one cheap I would be all over it. Not really into a lot of newer games but this is one I would love to have! Enjoy your new game.

Yeah, I had some awesome 4 paragraph review/description of the game that I wrote up last night, and I couldn't post it due to the server being too busy, so....umm,yeah, it's a fun game. Pick it up if you can. BTW, the 50" Deluxe cab. is a LOT more fun than the 27". Subwoofers, feedback in the guns, etc...

So for the reasons you listed, do you think it's better than the Time Crisis series? I always enjoy playing those when I see them in an arcade.

Its too big to be in most collections, but as for the platform effects, I would say its classic sega and a unique gaming experience. Isn't time crisis a dime a dozen. LA machine guns gameplay may not be as good, but at least its different. And it should get played more by guests.

Well, it's kind of a toss up. Time Crisis, as a well known series, is definitely a mainstream title. Do I like it? Meh. Time Crisis (original) on a 50" monitor, yes. TC2...It's okay. Would I want one in my game room? Commercially to make money, yes. At home, not so much. TC3 or 4....graphically, nice game, but not my choice personally. For me, the gameplay is...well, lacking something.

L.A. Machine guns, by comparison, I've only played on the 50" version. It has a certain feel to it that I like. Again, personally, I would put it in either game room, commercially or at home. It does make money on the road, and I like it. I generally don't care for Sega pieces (as a whole), but I like this offering. It has enought on-screen action going that there really isn't a "pattern" that I can see. So as a result of that, it tends to keep the gameplay original and exciting. Plus sound-wise it keeps the blood pumping, the whole package together is a very-well made game IMO.

Don't take this as a L.A.Machine guns is better than TC thread...Time Crisis is a very well-recieved game on the commercial market, and you'll get a lot of positive comments from folks coming to your home and seeing a TC machine there. I just have seen it too often in my experience (every place I ever worked in the arcade industry had a TC of some kind, it wears on you), and I've gotten burned out from it. Crisis Zone is also a good piece, if you have that option. Technically, part of the Time Crisis series, but different enough to be a step away from it as well. If it were me personally and it was a 50" L.A.M., I'd go for it, but it's really your opinion overall...Play both first, if you can and then decide for yourself.

Thanks for the reply--it's a lot like how I feel. Anytime I would see a Time Crisis at an arcade, I would give it a play or two, but I think I've played it enough that I don't need one at home. Crisis Zone is a "dime a dozen" machine--the local auctions always have a few of them, so if I change my mind later I can pick one up for about the same price. I wanted something similar but different. I have it all set up in my garage and am warming up to what makes it different from Time Crisis. The mid-air circling around your target can be disorienting, but I kinda like it. The control panel floor rumble effect is ridiculous--it feels like the whole garage is shaking!

Anyone know where I could find a manual for this game? I emailed SEGA Amusements, so maiybe they will have something.

Love love love LA Machineguns! Always spend a lot of time on it when I'm at a Dave & Buster's or Gameworks. Force feedback guns & vibrating foot massage platform are great!

The game's not too hard--pretty forgiving--I can play pretty long on a credit.

And you get a 2-for-1! There's a board swap for Gunblade NY. Pretty much the same game, but different missions/graphics/enemies/etc.

Vibrate on both coasts!
