bit_slicer's sig on another forum reads: "Thanks to everyone for the opportunities at board repairs. I'm all done, for now."

Ok that makes sense.

What's that I see off in the distance?

Oh... It's square one and I'm back on it.

ahh well maybe He needs a break for awhile. Life might be getting in the way. it tends to do that to all of us. Two of My games live because of Him. Hopefully He gets back into it.

I've given the boards names:

Sparky: got too much power (hooked up AR backwards because connectors were hacked) bright flash and a bit of smoke - was working 100% before this

Glitchy: plays fine but graphics/sprites are all screwy and missing

Highlander: this one plays perfect, except you cannot die. It plays forever and never resets to start a new game

I have never given boards names lol

Sparky. now that could be the most expensive to repair! most likely would have buggered alot of the logic chips and fried the memory chips, spark 'could' have been the pcb power copper tracks melting!

Glitchy. bitmap memory or logic at a guess from over 3000 miles away

highlander. thats a good one!!!

a little more information, manual with schematics is here if that helps

sounds like very interesting faults to repair! the board does not look to difficult to work on as all on one board which i find is always better. i have repaired a good few galaxians , pacmans, and others like bomb jack, neo geo but i am too far away to be of any use. good luck
