Anyone know where I can find a Taxi Topper sign?

I did a *quick* scan of the schematics and didn't see anything referencing a driver board for the taxi sign.

What would there be to drive? Does it do something else besides light up?

It just lights up. There's nothing else to it.

I like the blue neon as well, kinda personalize it some. It's different, and just might blend well in a gameroom setting with other neon type lights in the background, etc. I like this idea! Do it !

Meh, go with the classic yellow. I don't think the blue neon would mesh well with the theme or art of the game.

I just got my Taxi so I could be worng but I found a reference to it in the Taxi manual. Here's a link to my "scan". I'd be interested in what the experts have to say about it. I still want an original though.

I'd prefer an original as well, but I'm probably not going to pay through the nose for one.

Again, haven't looked thoroughly at the schematics (looking at PDFs suck, and I don't want to kill a tree to print it out since I'm waiting for my original manual to come in the mail anyway), but when I did look at the lamp matrix, I didn't see a reference to the "dome" light or the taxi sign. Maybe I missed something? Where does the dome light connector lead back to? If it goes to the MPU, *maybe* it IS doing something. If it just goes back to the PS, then, no, any sign will light up just the same as the original. That also doesn't look like a driver board, but a layout of the lamps in the actual dome sign itself. Looks like it uses eight lamps, two different kinds? Damn. They must've had a surplus of them.

Please dont use that one ;)

Hehe. Well, I could go either way, but since YOU asked, Jow, I'll find a different sign.

Now neon yellow has some potential methinks....

Yellow neon looks very cool and if you need help wiring it up I can send you an interface board. ;-)

After closer inspection, I don't think it's a driver board but I'm pretty sure it's for the taxi sign. You're correct, it has two types of bulbs--normal and flashers. I haven't traced the wiring harness for it yet but will do so tomorrow. I'll let you know what I find.
