Anyone know Gary Blatter from Nebraska?

Yes. Most, if not all of us here in Nebraska(thats on the forum) know him. Why? You can PM if necessary.

I think he is on the forum but dont know his name.

He's trying to swing a few deals with me via CL, but he seems like an impatient, hyperactive gentleman. Must have received 10-12 emails in the past 40 minutes alone.

Well that's just it, he went from wanting to sell me a nonworking Mad Planets for $875, to wanting to trade it for a restored Popeye AND a working Elevator Action. When I said I'd trade for one or the other, he quickly changed his tune and no longer wanted a Popeye, but did want an EA, but wanted to see pics and would pay no more than 3 bills for it. When I reminded him of the trade, he said no way, you want way too much for your games, and you won't pay me what mine are worth, so I'll just buy your EA for $300 and we can forget about the MP. Huh?

The challenge in Nebraska is that there doesn't seem to be a lot of other people with his "connections". It's hard to find cabs for sale around here but Gary can find whatever it is you're looking for.

I got a 48-in-1 from him for a good price and he's come back twice to fix a few things on it and help me out.

Yes, his prices do change quickly and sometimes they are a little over what KLOVers say CMV should be. I've never tried to haggle with him because I currently don't have the resources to make an honest request.

he only wants to give 300 for EA, and wants 875 for a broken mad planets. my reply would have been simple, "go get fucked"

Well you know exactly what to tell him.

Ya know maybe $275 was not that bad but really i thought for once he would work with me and make me a deal. I guess i was wrong. He has known for awhile now that i have been looking for a Joust but whatever. Whoever bought it(if anyone did) can enjoy it. Another will come along.

$275 for a broken, waterlogged Joust is a bad deal, make no mistake about it. And I love Joust.

Fully working, and in great shape, Joust is a $400 - $500 game.

From the pictures he sent me, it looked like the water damage was just on the back edge of top board(slants down) when looking at the back of the cabinet. Nothing to terrible. The rest of the cabinet looked solid for the most part.

I did not go look at it in person so who knows.

I know Gary too. He sold me a couple empty cabs several years ago when I was new to the hobby. Spent a little too much on them but I learned a lesson. I believe he is an OK guy but he also knows this is a real scarce area for machines and likes to price accordingly. If it seems to be a bit high for your tastes, don't buy. He's got that used car salesman type attitude IMHO, and kinda brash, but I like him.

This sounds kinda like the hour long, phone conversation I had with him in September. He was all hot and bothered about moving to Mid Missouri and got all lathered up about some classic games and perhaps have me maming some of his shooter games and then..... POOF! Gone. No calls, no emails, nuttin'. Never heard from him again. Just my experience...

Sorry to butt in, but just wanted to say hi to the fellow Lincoln members here. I was curious who else was around my area. Met Troxel for the first time tonight, good guy, and his kids are hilarious. They sure love dad's pinball machines.

Sad to see the above posts, sometimes things work out, and sometimes they don't. Life still moves forward though. I'm just trying to learn who's around this area for future questions & pursuits.

I assume this is the same gary in nebraska who has these two machines on ebay that need some love.

If only I could find an economical way to get them to nj. my taito mini row would be space invaders, crazy climber, and elevator action.

I know it is highly improbable, but if any of you guys are coming east with a truck.....
