anyone know about this link?

I make it a rule not to pose in front of arcade games ~ If you do get caught in between a game and camera, avoid posing like you're a boss, it comes off extremely douchelord.

I tend to shy away from cameras.
Having a crazy person stalking you tends to do that to you.
She sits in a mental ward today listening to the voices in her head.

...

Heh, its mostly the old IRC and Rec.Games.Video.Arcade.Collecting crowd there. I had Al remove my name and picture from that link :)

I bought a couple project games from the first guy on the list (Steve Z)... He was really nice and had some very collectible stuff. That was a few years ago and I think he was getting out of the hobby. Recognize quite a few names on there, so biggies in the pinball world, like Python (designer for Williams).

Seems like a good group of people and some nice games. The web designer in me shudders a bit at a page like that (seemingly designed in FrontPage 1.0) and makes me want to email the owner of the page and offer to redesign it for free. Gotta look past such things though and see the gaming goodness.

Not enough wrinkles.

"I shit you not! A Moppet cab - about this high - with Crystal Castles artwork on the side. You wouldn't believe what it looked like!"

All of these people pre-date me getting into this hobby so I haven't met any of them, but it was still cool to see this site again. I own that Zoo Keeper now. Al acquired it non-working in 2001 and created this page to document the troubleshooting and repair process. He eventually sold it to a buddy around 2008, and that guy eBay'd it in December 2009, which is how I wound up with it. The weird thing is that I had stumbled across Al's Zoo Keeper page a few months earlier late one night while randomly browsing. When I bought my Zoo Keeper and it arrived from Georgia I opened up the back door and thought, 'Huh... This looks familiar.' I recognized the battery backed RAM that Al had installed, the Baby AT power supply zip-tied into place, and the weird permanent marker markings all over the power cord block and the ribbon cables.

It still said, "HIGHEST SCORES AT AL'S ARCADE" and had JWC's scores on it when I got it. I've since cleared the high score table and topped those scores anyway, though, and it now says, ""HIGHEST SCORES AT 36TH CHAMBER." :)

That being said......where is my photo?

Still on the camera you broke...

It was interesting to see Clay's pic. He melted down over on the NLG forums when the mods there refused to let him ask for bin files on the forum. The slot manufacturers keep a VERY close eye on that forum. IGT and the others are VERY litigious.

yeah i thought it was a cool page... i know rich goodman, hes not in the hobby anymore, sold all of his exidy stuff.. i was lucky enough to buy some NOS cpos from him at the time...

Steve Zeuner is still around, he actually hangs out in the #arcade chatroom everyday.

Thats actually good news, thanks! When I was there, I think he said his main gaming buddy had moved and he kinda lost the love for the hobby. He had a Stern Rescue, which is one of my favorites and its the only time I'd seen one since the early 80's.

Back in the good old days (12-15 years ago) I ran into many of those guys, but most of them I haven't seen in a long time. Most of them were the early collectors of games when RGVAC ruled as a collector forum.

I think some have left the hobby or scaled back, or just prefer to remain away from groups like this for whatever reason.

Steve Z. had a great collection of stuff and sold off most of it years ago. Seth Soffer has a huge black and white collection of unique titles. Jeff Anderson runs Videotopia and has a ton of games, or did last time I spoke with him.
