An operator I know was asking me about a slot machine arcade game thats in a location next to his.

I took a quick look at it. It has a dollar bill validator on it, has what looks like a 4 or 5 reel video slot setup with 4 or 5 buttons to stop the reels and a bet and spin button. All the reels had 7's.

I assume its for illegal gambling purposes. Can't see a reason why anyone would dump money into it unless someone is working something illegal off of it (payout).

Anyone know more about it? I told him they are probably illegal. It did have a sticker on it that said for amusement only...

I do remember seeing on old arcade game which had video poker and slots games on it. Might have been called Lucky 8-Liner or something. I was too cheap to buy it at the time.

I was not about to throw money in it, but the text was english. It had a really cheap looking cabinet. Maybe nextime I am near it I will take a pic.

The only thing that I thought might be close was this lucky spin pcb, but if that 1 image is a screen shot, its not right.. Screen was full of 7's on the reels and it did not have any type of attarct screen. It would sit on the screen with the reels and saying insert coin.

sounds like an 8-liner to me. tons of different boards for them. Cherry master is one of the popular ones. Search ebay for 8 liner and you'll see what i'm talking about.

Not sure what type of facility it is in, but last time I was in Tennessee I stopped in an arcade and noticed they had full row's of what looked like slot machine's set up the same way they would be in a casino, if you won it would dispense tokens which were handled just like redemption tickets at the counter...

Definitely an 8-liner. I have one in my storage a gameroom guy gave me (Cherry Master). I'm either going to turn the cab into a test-bench cab, or make it a virtual jukebox....

thanks. Did not see the exact screen I saw, but the 8-liners looks close enough to say its that.

Funny, I had heard the term 8-liner before, but for some reason I though it was a generic replacement monitor chassis.

There is a company called 8liners.com that sells parts for fixing 8-liners, including universal chassis' for fixing dead monitors. I believe the chassis' themselves are actually Wei-Ya brand. Of course, many have decided to use them to fix their arcade machines as well....
