Anyone interested in reproduction Wico 4 inch (Robotron size) joystick shafts?

These are on sale now: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?p=1610546#post1610546

$50 for a set of two shipped.

So, I made some reproduction four inch Wico shafts for myself. These shafts are made out of Stainless Steel and are an exact match (less the top part that is threaded) of the Wico four inchers. The ones I currently have made accept the ball tops that KLOVer armi0024 at Paradise Arcade Shop carries. I was hoping that these balls would match the size of Wico's, but they do not, they are a little smaller. Last night I was told by KLOVer armi0024 (Paradise Arcade Shop) that he may start carrying ball tops that match the size of Wico ball tops. If that is the case we would be in luck!

So, my question is:

Would anyone be interested in these reproduction shafts including ball tops? I am thinking the cost would be around $15 -$20 per shat and ball top (not counting shipping) depending on what my cost would be for ball tops that match the size of Wicos.

your price may be a little low on those, once you figure in nickel plating the shafts, and the ball tops are pressed on, so it takes a press to do that, if you have one or pay someone to do it. I looked into doing these, and i was looking at about 25.00 per stick to have them made. By all means if you can get it done, i would! I wouldn't mind having a better set myself.

I am thinking right now it would just be a screw on ball top like the one pictured above assuming that I can find a ball top the was the same diameter as the Wico ball top.

If people like these I may see what it would take to make a true exact reproduction (pressed on ball).

If anyone is interested in these with the smaller ball tops shoot me a PM.

How could it possibly be cheaper to make them with a screw on top, since both the shaft and ball would have to be threaded?

It may not be cheaper but it sure would be easier! I can currently purchase balls that are already threaded, so I make the shafts, get the balls and then screw em on. I would need to research how or who could make me the right size ball (without threads) and then press it on.

I'd probably take a couple. I'd be more interested if it weren't threaded (like the originals). I'd likely stick with the light blue NOS ones that I have if they are threaded.

Unless you are manufacturing these yourself it isn't worth it. I have my own lathe to turn and thread, but no plastic injection equipment.

But I already have a few Robotron sticks. Most are off color.(Repro red sticks, Black sticks, dark blue sticks, light blue sticks, and even a pair of pink sticks). But only one of my red pair are NOS.

Does anyone know the specifics of the springs used on the originals? (I need to order some to complete the assemblies).

Thanks.

Wolfeel, just let me know size and color, please let's get the pantone correct. I can have these made with threading for a very resonable price. I have a manufacturer that did our new dark blue bubbles and they are amazing. I will PM, but if you do the shafts we'll do the ball tops for you, this sounds great!
