anyone interested in Galaga 88 side art?

My quest for an original 88 in cabinet ended a few months ago without side art, a cracked CPO, and a paper scan of the marquee. I'm not sure if it was a conversion from a DS or Pacmania since the last owner painted over the labels on the back. But, now that I have one, I'd like to keep it as original as possible and I'm in for the side art (and CPO and marquee) as I've mentioned in the past.

Regarless, I still prefer playing 88 in my original Galaga cabinet because I prefer looking down at the screen and the Atari 4-way joystick is sluggish and strange to me.

Anyway, if this interest begins again, I'm willing to pay for a set or two.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but does anyone know if the CPO's ever happened? I see that Quarter Arcade is selling some for $70, but I wanted to know where they came from first.

Any word on wether or not the side art will ever be on the horizon?

i had (mostly) dropped the idea of side art since there didn't seem to be a lot of interest and i heard about a few people who either were already attempting it or had done a few one-offs for themselves. and now my G'88 is on location so i don't have to see the lack of side art all the time.

i also ran out of free time and blew my arcade budget but might have some of both this winter... maybe i'll get restarted on this have Rich do a small run and pass them along at cost. assuming no one else does it first, that is.

Melissa, you should do what I am doing. I am working on large sided version of the flyer, I just need to do some small tweeks.

Oh how I wish I had a Galaga 88 cab! An original Japanese board is the best I've been able to do so far.

Me too. It's a grail for me and I just missed out on a converted cabinet recently. Still steaming about that...

I'm contemplating eventually getting a CNC'd Galaga-style cabinet without the speakers routed so that I can cut them for stereo speakers and making a Galaga 88 cabinet out of that. I'd probably like it more than the original Galaga 88 cabinet, oddly enough. :) Been playing Galaga 88 with a cabinet adapter in my Galaga cab lately a bit.

That is what I am doing but in galaxian I picked up.

I'd buy a set or two. Not sure I'll ever have any use for them, but am hoping somebody makes a repro cab for this series someday.

Come to think of it I'm not sure why we haven't already seen interest threads for reproducing these cabinets? There were several great games that were put into them, would think that there would be interest to see them reproduced.

Oh, and should clarify that I'm in for a set of original style G88 side art. I know it isn't much to look at, but I like to keep things original. If I can't end up with an original looking machine I might as well just pop the board in my JAMMA cabinet from time to time when I feel like playing this one.
