Anyone hired movers?

I've hurt my hip

This, exactly! I found a couple of H.S. kids that live in the neighborhood when they posted a flyer on our door saying they'd do yard work or any other thing you need. They were both football players for a private H.S. locally, and they're now freshman football players at the local college. They still live here and I've got their cell #'s, so anytime I need some extra muscle I call these guys. I give them some money and some playtime on the games and they're happy (and my back is happy too). I don't know what I'm going to do when they graduate college in a few years, get jobs, and move away...

Greg, I may want to "borrow" your guys at some point. My wife won't move machines with me any more and my left arm is feeling the effects of past moves every time I lift something now (getting older sucks). Let me know via PM what they'd charge. I'm most likely local enough for them. Thanks.

I have hired a local company that did in-house moves. They did the following:

1) moved 34" CRT HDTV from 1st to 2nd floor
2) moved 27" CRT TV from 2nd floor to basement
3) moved 720 cabinet from garage to basement
4) moved SWCP cabinet from garage to basement

Total cost: $100
Total time: 15 min (I kid you not)

2 guys who knew what they were doing.

There's nothing quite like watching real movers do their thing. They've done enough of it that they REALLY know how to get stuff slung around efficiently. Really cool to watch.

One down. My brother was down visiting, so I decided to try tackling the centipede. I mounted two handles to the bottom, and it made all the difference in the world.

With the handles, I was able to keep the cab under control, so I didn't tweak my hip.

Might have to try the other two today.
