Anyone here run a regular BL bulb in their Asteroids deluxe??

I can't seem to find the white Blacklight bulbs anywhere. I was told I could use the black bulb lights but the look won't be as good. Anyone have a source for the white bulbs or run the black bulbs with no issues??

Soh the story actually goes the same for Battlezone. I believe some folks have used this place in the past:

Hope this helps.

And btw what did you ever do about the Battlezone? Did you pick it up?

I found a white black light at my local Grainger for $15.

I've also seen them on at least one website around here ... arcadeshop maybe? Problem was shipping kills the price.

You can also search Amazon and find a lot of hits but again shipping make the price about double.

FWIW: I bought a few white-black light bulbs for my Asteroids Deluxe and Battlezone. Guess what. They suck. They're too bright. I went back to standard black-blacklight bulbs...both in my AD and Battlezone. Battlezone was the worst though... with the white blacklight bulbs cardboard "dashboard" was WAY too bright IMHO.

I used a BLB when I first got my AD and it worked much better than the white BL's did. I don't care what the manual or the internet says. I like to base my choices on real world experience.

Rich @ thisoldgame is now carrying white bl....

I'm getting ready to order a couple.

Wasn't aware there were was a difference in bulbs, I just bought a blb from Walmart....looks great imo.

Well see,the thing is I heard that you had to get the white ones for the best effect from a local member who used to own one so I went with that. But if you guys are saying a black bulb is sufficient than thats what I'll go with. For one it'll be easier to find locally. What does the T rating mean that the bulbs are rated at and what is the ideal T rating to get if thats even important? My bulb is sold old I can't even read the print.
