I just picked one up and hooked it up in my JAMMA cabinet and the monitor displays nothing. I would have expected one of the games to display on the screen, but NADA ...

When I try to select other game "slots" by pressing the remote controller, I get nothing.

I am getting one LED light on the 6 in 1 board to light up when I plug it in, but that's it. It isn't one of the lights next to where the JAMMA PCBs slot in though. If you look at the photo above, the LED that lights is the one in the upper right quadrant of the board. It is titled LED7.

Also, the LED on the controller lights up when I press the buttons to switch between games.

Finally, I cannot find one single document online anywhere to help troubleshoot this board. An instruction booklet certainly would have been nice ... LOL.

If anyone has one of these and doesn't mind me firing off a few questions at them, that would be great.

Thanks in advance!

I have one. It doesn't work, and causes my power supply to shut itself down. I haven't tracked down wherever it's shorting out though, as the board's been packed up and in storage for the past year.

I couldn't get any replies for support from http://www.jammaboards.com/ (mine was bought for me as a gift from their site) via either emails or their ticket system.

Their jamma extension harnesses are shit too.

Their jamma finger boards are THE shit though. Really nice.

There have been a lot of mixed reviews of these 6-in-1 switches.

Being a computer tech, I'd start by removing all the boards from the 6-in-1 and put them back in one at a time, testing them after each board is added.

I have several of these and I use the extention cables on all of them. I have to turn my power supply up to get enough power to the boards for them to operate. This may be your problem especially if it's a large or double board. Only 1 board slot will be on at any time. When you turn your game on nothing will display on the monitor until you select a game with the remote. After you make your selection that board should turn on unless It's not receiving enough power.

I have one, and it's flaky too. Certain boards won't work with it. Its got some dead end grounds, and the buttons are pinned out non-standard. You need to run a jumper from the video ground to one of the first power grounds if not already.

I haven't had those problems with any of mine? Boards not working or the switcher problems? The whole problem is they're made in China and each batch they make seems to have different problems.

Complete and utter shit. Missing a number of wires, thin wires, one was DOA, the other 2 gave my games major heartburn.

I sure wish someone had warned me about them before I bought them. I returned them out of principle but paid shipping both ways to get rid of them.

OTOH, Bob's are primo.

It's a quality control problem. They don't have any and their getting sloppy. They weren't this bad when they first started making them. Both the switcher boards and the extention harnesses.

I have had mine for a couple years with no problems at all.
I must have been really lucky.
I just had to do the -5v mod for my Ninty boards.

I have worked on and repaired a number of these infernal contraptions. It's hit or miss whether you get a good one or a bad one. DON'T buy them from Jammaboards. Get them from here...

I have found that if the remote is working but the switcher is not, there is an issue with the receiver unit. It's the vertical little board with the coil winding on it that's perpendicular to the switcher board itself in between slots 5 and 6. I have had success with bringing these things back to life by reflowing all the solder points on that little receiver board. If you have any soldering skills, give that a try and report back!

Another point I want to make is that SOMETIMES, you have to hold the button down on the remote for 1-3 seconds before the game will select/change.
