Anyone have traffic lights in their arcade? If so does anyone need a light sequencer for it? I am about to build one for myself, and if there is any interest, it will be easy for me to build a couple extra for others.

Just be lazy and buy one for $35.00

I've got a traffic light from the TGIFridays that closed locally, it had those flasher disc that fit under the bulb in the socket which flashed randomly.

Another KLOVer told me about Lights To Go! and I bought their control board here:

I could have laid one out and built it, but figured it wasn't worth the hassle and minimums. Besides, the Lights To Go unit is well designed and simple to install, it also runs several sequences and speeds based on how you set the switches and trim pot.

Ive got a traffic light and a pedestrian crossing light in my game room. Both have Lights To Go sequencers in them. They work great and are simple to install.

I wanted to build the sequencers myself, but could never find the time, so I gave in and bought them.

I have one in my game room. It's go a radio shack sequencer in it.

Though, if you haven't been into radio shack lately, good luck. It's just a cell phone store now. Went in recently and asked where the molex connectors were. Lets just say that silence was very uncomfortable.

A friend of mine just bought a traffic light at auction. I told him to wire it up by the bathroom door with a switch that turns the light red when the doors closed and green when it's open. Yellow would be for 5 minutes after someone comes out. Ehh, better make it 10.

I do have one in mine and it does not change, cost?

If I can get a minimum of like 5 of these things, I would say probably $25 as a kit or $35 built. But the more I make, these QUICKLY drop in price like if I made 10 it would be closer to $15 as a kit. I don't have specifics as I haven't priced the parts I need for it all yet.

I have sort of an oddball traffic light in my gameroom, but both lights stay on all the time.

Would a sequencer work with this or does it have to be the standard red/yellow/green traffic light?

The design I have in mind to keep this extra cheap could be used on that, but it would just change it back and forth from Walk/Don't Walk, and wouldn't blink the Don't Walk part of it.

Let me know what you decide

Thanks

I have more disposable income than patience. I have already purchased the controller referenced by Ken Layton earlier in the thread.

Thanks Ken - You are an incredible resource, kind of like the wikipedia for gameroom related problems. :)

Good luck with your project, Pinball Wizard!

I can't get enough demand to make this worth while, so I'm just going to order from the eBay auction. Anyone need any circuits designed? Would ARIIs be worth it? How about MCR power boards, what is there interest in?
