Anyone have or want red tent instruction cards cleaned up?

I need 2 instruction cards for my red tent and came across Pete's site: http://playchoice.riemen.net/vs_list.html with the awesome high-res scans. Has anyone already cleaned them up or wanted them cleaned up?

I tried many times to DL and print those out, but they print at different sizes every time. I have no idea why. They should be sized to the exact scan. I have some that are 9 inches across, some that are an inch shorter than factory, etc. I finally just gave up. I need several of them, including Ice Climber, Vs. Pinball, Skate Kid Bros, and the PC-10 one. I had started vectorizing the Baseball one but gave up a long time ago.

I printed these no problem. Just scale them in Photoshop to the correct dimensions.

I was going to do the same, but the SMB looks awful on-screen. Is it supposed to be watercolor-looking? It would be a bitch to clean up. The other one I need is Excitebike, which would be a bit easier.

How I wished he had a Vs. Balloon Fight instruction card. Reproducing one is a daunting task. I have a photo of one that ataritoobin provided, but it's blurry and taken from like 5 feet away and is in Japanese. My wife said she'd attempt to just recreate the look and feel based on the photo. Almost like making a custom one like Blkdog did with DK3 and soon-to-be Popeye.

Nothing is like originals though. I have NOS Goonies and Super Mario Bros to put in my tent once I get the time to clean it up.

Huh? Wouldn't a vectorized repro printed out at the right size on the right stock be like the original? Isn't that what 'repro' means? These instruction cards are nothing special.

I wasn't saying anything bad about repros. I was just saying it's nice to have the originals, they have a different feel and print than something printed out on a home inkjet.

Yeah, these aren't "special" per se, but there are a lot of guys who'd like original art as opposed to repro. For me, these cards are cheap enough where I'd rather find originals I can buy for $5-10 than printing out vector art on my HP.

It's like wanting to buy an original PS when a switching PS could work just as good. ;)

True, and if I remember correctly, the Baseball and Tennis ones both have metallic silver inks that an inkjet printer would have a hell of a time recreating. So I guess you're right, there really is nothing like the originals. I think that's why I gave up on vectorizing the Baseball card.

Yes, that's how it is supposed to look.

I printed the SMB and Excitebike ones to replace my worn originals. They turned out nice.

Terrible choice on Nintendo's part IMO. It looks like 3rd grader colored it.

Haha. You're probably right. I kind of like it though. It's unique. The artwork reminds me of some of the hand-drawn art that you see in old Nintendo Power issues (from 88-91 or so) when they did game previews and guides. But I think that's what gives it that late-80s and early-90s feel that you would never see nowadays.

I study them in detail while I am playing. I sometimes forget which button jumps and which fires. I love these cards so much I am gonna wallpaper my bathroom in them.

Ditto. I was playing Balloon Fight and couldn't figure out which button flaps. It's pretty frustrating. This is why I really need to get one reproduced. I cry myself to sleep at times.

"at times" he says. Awesome. How mean do you feel now, Jowseph? "Does anyone ever look at those things anyway? " What a dick.

Speaking of the Playchoice addon for the Red Tent, I finally got around to converting the scanned images someone graciouly sent me to PDF. I'll pass it on to arcarc for those looking for a copy.

Also, anyone ever notice the button colors on the Playchoice Red Tent Instruction Card? I wonder why they changed the green and yellow buttons on the card to a blue and pink? Those buttons didn't come with the kit so it doesn't quite make sense.

I'm almost done vectorizing the Vs. Pinball one for someone here. I'll be posting the finished product this week for critique....
