I hear it alllll the time. I'd buy cabinets, "if only you were closer"!! I was thinking.. what would it cost to ship a 48' container from NW ohio, to say, Los Angeles CA. I would guess i could get 3 rows of cabinets in it, for a total of 60 cabinets. If it cost 4000.00 to get it dropped, picked up, and delivered to L.A. that would be 67.00 shipping per cab. Pretty reasonable, but i'd have to sell 60 cabinets to fill it! Anyone in the shipping industry here that can give me some insight?

I ship through FedEx Freight and love them. They offer truck rates that are extremely low! As many games as you can fit in the truck. I've never actually shipped a truck load but they may be able to give you some insight.

you can only get 41 cabinets in a 53 footer if it is a mix of 19 and 25. I just had 2 semi loads and could only get 91 cabs in both

what is the inside width of a 53' trailer? I just pretty much have 19" cabinets, most are 24" wide on average.

I would look into something like PODS. They can be used for logistics and not just storage. They have various sizes of containers and you should be able to do door to door from your place to a KLOV'er in the target area. Plus the smaller size containers would allow more frequent shipping to various locations instead of building a giant order for one site.

Pods looks pretty expensive... Looked up a move from here to the bay area in CA and it $2,800 for 16' POD door to door. Not sure you could get enough into one to be worthwhile.

Edit: the POD I quoted was 8x8x16 so maybe some creative packing would help.

I am trying to work out shipping to California, as i know there is a ton of Klovers, and i'm sure some of them want cabs. I am also talking with somone on a massive order of cabs unassembled, and they would be built and stocked. Then the west coasters could just run down and buy what they want. That sound interesting? The prices would be a little higher, maybe 50.00 a cab to try and offset some of the shipping. I gotta guess it's gonna be at least 5K to get a container from OH to CA.

I've never even hinted at wanting a cab on here, but if shipping was down to $75 or so a cab, I could see myself buying 2 or 3 possibly.

No commitment, but a definite maybe, lol.
I want to support you if I can. put it that way.
