I have a guy that swaps tubes for me. The hard part is finding the 25" tvs. Most come out 100% great but every once in a great while, they come out a little pixely

I just did one. I needed a tube for a K7500, and I've seen them in Zenith, Philips and Samsung varieties. I just so happened to find a Samsung dumped at the end of the drive outside one of my neighbors houses, and it was made the same year (1998). since I was taking a TV and making it medium res, I had to swap the yoke over from the old Zenith tube.

I did a dry run with it and it worked, then I swapped it to the frame. I replaced the degauss coil and ground strap from the old tube to the new as well.

it's really not all that complicated. the worst part was getting the convergence rings off heh

try to stick to the same make though. whatever your tube is now, seek out that brand, and if you're lucky like me, you'll find it from the same year or something.

a 25" tube is a 25" tube

A tube swap is not complicated in it's self it is the convergence that is hard. As far as finding a yoke that's compatible is a different story. If your planing to swap the yoke also almost every 25" tube is the same regardless of brand or year I'm sure there are exceptions but I have not ran into any. From others experience all medium res or above will need yoke swaps. I have always taken there word and swapped the yokes anyway. Actually all the tube swaps I have done I had to change the yokes anyway it's hard to find them that match what you need. Convergence is an art and I still suck at it, but if your tube is bad it still looks better then a bad tube.
