anyone have an extra degaussing coil they want to sell

So what am I missing here? I wanted to make a better tool other than my solder gun

so I took a coil off a 19 inch double it up wrapped it with electrical tape add a power cord to it.

While it didn't blow a fuse immediately when I plugged it it it was smoking in seconds and super hot!!

How to make one that works like the coils they sell? Do I need a resistor in there?

I am still smelling the magical smell of burn electronics.... Am an still feeling the heat in my hand! I threw the coil on the basement floor cause that sucker was hot!! The tape was so plyaale (and melting!)

I bought one of those cheap green Chinese degauss wands they sell on the fleabay , gets hot quick but does the trick pretty good , its like using the Wii making rotating motions while slowly moving backwards
