anyone have a working dig dug board?

Have you verified that you're getting 5v to the board? If it's not getting good power, another board isn't going to help.

If you're sure you need one, post a WTB in the Trading/WTB section.

nice

good!

that's prolly what he needs.. PS is where I start with games.. 90% of all the issues i've had start there.. Good luck man

thanks guys. the post about the board is jumping the gun a bit, but im just preparing for the inevitable point where its running but somethings wrong with the board. I figured if i could pick one up for a decent price i could perhaps swap chips and what-not if i needed to. im hoping the new arII board helps. where do I check the power supply itself? to make sure its putting out what it needs to be putting out...?

Antiquarius, the "test" points being referred to by local413 are the little silver rings you see standing up on the ARII board and main boards. You will need to set your multimeter to DCV, I think there are 20, 200, and 2000 options- all this does is move the decimal for what you'll be checking. On the ARII board, you can touch your red lead on any of the ones that say +5 etc (I don't have one in front of me at the moment). You then put your black lead on the ring that says "GND" (ground).

Sorry if you know this stuff already, I wasn't sure so I wanted to help translate.. :D

Mine has tabs sticking up. But, the only test points are 10vac, Gnd, sense+ and sense -. Doesn't help when you need to test and adjust +5v.

yeah, i was testing at the sense+. when i tried adjusting the little pot it would either go real high, like 10 to 12 volts, or it would be nothing, it seems that pot is crapped out... unless i shouldnt be getting 5v at that spot anyway, in which case i guess ill try to get it back to where it was...

Yeah you should see +5 on the sense. It's possible that its a flaky pot. Just had a space duel that would do that. IIRC that's a 2k pot.

alright, i put the replacement arII board in and nothing happened. im getting about 4.8/5v at the sense and on that cap on the arII - but the board still isnt booting, nor is the led on the board lit. I checked at a couple caps on the main pcb and was getting 3. something at most of them. ????? this thing is pissing me off...

Pull your edge connector off and clean it and the PCB fingers. There should also be a test point for +5 near the bottom of the edge connector (when the PCB is in the cabinet).

You can't always go by the LED, it may be bad. Check measurements at random chips at the VCC pin, and the test points labeled +5
