The last cap kit for my Sanyo from Bob doesn't have the paperwork saying which caps go where. Anyone have a scan of the sheet? I *think* I may have asked for this before, and someone may have helped out, but I cant remember.

Thanks in advance.

Don't know what the "plus" is about either... but I have this one, I thnk nabbed from Bob as well.

Maybe the difference between the regular and deluxe kit? I don't know why anyone does the regular kit on Sanyo's anymore. The deluxe kit and cap map is still missing the filter cap.

Thanks guys. Apparently I have my title worded wrong. Usually when Bob sends his cap kits, there is a sheet he includes (sort of like a checklist) that shows which caps in his kit go to where. Does anyone have a scan of that sheet?

Is is usually necessary to replace the filter cap? What are the symptoms when that is bad? I never replaced one.

Absolutely necessary, maybe not, but it would suck to have to pull the chassis out because you didn't replace one cap. Plus it's not like the filter cap is made with some magical Electrolytic that makes it last 20+ years.

A lot of the cap kits were originally designed in the 80's to change the bare minimum number or caps to get the monitors running again in most situations.
What do you think of a person who only does the bare minimum?

I have the printout from Bob, but has crossouts & writing all over it as I was doing the capping. I will retype it here -- hope it's the one you want. It's for the EZ20 & Audio board (his deluxe kit). Cut and paste the below and you will have Bob's sheet sent with the kit.

The actual voltage rating value may be higher than stated & only serves for a higher safety margin, & is a perfiectly acceptable replacement. Do not use a lower than stated voltage rating.

Capacitors usually have one lead longer than the other and this longer lead is generally the positive or + lead and most boards are marked with the + or - negative signs. They almost always have a striped side which is most often the negative (-), but can sometimes be marked in the stripe as +, so it is best to look closely at each one before inserting it. Pre-cut capacitors will be marked with the + or - sign in the striped area.

A best course of action would be to replace them one at a time, carefully observing how the markings are on the original cap, as sometimes a pc board will be incorrectly silk-screened.

Thats the one, Kev. A thousand thank you's.

Am I crazy here or something?

Sanyo 20 ezv looks just like all my other monitors, but I could be wrong. It was a spare monitor I got from someplace I thought I would cap and get going
