title says it all. I have to re-cap one in my KI, we'll see if using a map for once will make this process go way faster for me. :)

thanks.

and if not, I have downtime right now to draw my own up, I guess.

ok, I made my own, if anyone's interested I'll go and redraw it in like photoshop or something.

made it go way smoother, but with my shoulder bothering me, it still took as long. that and I'm trying to be extremely meticulous since it's a Polo after all.

People use cap maps? I don't even use a list most of the time. I just start in one corner and pull the cap, check the size, get a new one, and put it in. Continue all the way around the board until I got them all....

I'll take one. I have Polo I'll have to recap soon.

I haven't yet but this is my first Polo recap so if it comes in handy, why not? ;)

I don't have a peaceful room to do my work in. I have to manage and delegate jobs to the help, and fix shit for other people that come in, all the while I'm doing the cap jobs, so I need some assistance.

I just drew major components on a sheet of paper and drew the caps around them. if it weren't for my damn shoulder giving out and the sharp pains going to my elbow, the job would've gone smoother.

for anyone interested, I didn't blow it up. and as far as I can tell, there was NO CHANGE other than the vertical linearity adjusting way easier. it's a nice feeling having caps in it that aren't 15+ years old though. :)

and surprisingly, it was a very easy chassis to do work on. at least I didn't have 10 solder pads lift like Wells' late 90s shit. just happened that I went to extremes and re-did the color drive transistors, the big white block resistors and all the header pins on the remote board and the part where it plugs into the chassis.

I still have problems with the Vertical Amp pot magically walking. this is actually a replacement board that I got from Chad. does anyone know if there's a difference between the adjustment pots on a 25" and 27" Polo? cadillacman donated me a Polo 27 for free when I had my cousin pick up a U5000 off him for my Dance Maniax. :D

Hey folks, new to the forums. Have had at least 1 game in the house for the last 10 years, and have often used these forums as a knowledge base because any question that I had, usually had been asked (and answered) first.
Recently I picked up a MK2 (w/ polo 25") with some exterior cosmetic damage for $50, but amazingly, the PCB worked, and the monitor was bright with great color. The only problem is that the monitor gradually compresses the image from top to bottom. On the test pattern screen, the top row of boxes are tall, the next are a little shorter, the next are even shorter, and the bottom row is about 66% the height of the top row. During gameplay, it makes the fighters look like they have stumpy legs. I purchased a cap kit from Bob Roberts, and am about to go to work, but I thought I'd take a couple days to see if that is really going to help. Does anyone know what causes that problem? Maybe I'm headed in the wrong direction. Thanks in advance!!!
