I get full sound and play but I have this line across the center of the screen which you can see has animation movement in it. I tested the board out in another cab and it plays fine so it's not that. Any suggestions?? Thanks

What model? Is the remote board pluged in?

These are all the numbers I could find on it. For the remote board ,is that the same as the neckboard?

remote board is the one that you adjust brightness, contrast, horizontal size and position, vertical size and position, and horizontal and vertical holds.

you can't mistake it with a neckboard. :)

none of those labels and numbers are of any good in identifying the actual monitor chassis.

I know nothing about the MTC9000, but the Polo series had a metal cage that enclosed the power supply section, and it has a label that will say "HANTAREX POLO 25" or whatever on it.

I've never seen that first label before on any of my Polos (I have 4 of them) and it looks pretty old school. snoop around more, and don't bother with the tube manufacturer, that's not it either. take a picture of the deflection board (the big one on the bottom), neck board and remote board. and the 2nd pic (the white circular plastic part with a bunch of copper wiring strands wrapped around it) is the yoke, if you ever wanted to know.

First things first CHeck all the solder connections in the vertical output areas especially around the little black transistors usually screwed into a metal peice. If that's not it test them and see it either or both are shorted. And a cap kit wouldn't hurt either.

See it all the time... I HATE hanatrex monitors... that adjustment board SUCKS...

Reflow the connectors on the adjustment board and where they plug into the monitor chassis. Also reflow all the adjustment pots on that board... and clean them well.

Even then the board will probably still end up giving you problems in the future... TERRIBLE monitors.

Then again, that's just my opinion.

Yeah it seemed a little sucky to me. It fits in there loosely and it just seems like a cheap board layout all together. I think I'll take it to work tommorow and reflow everything on the board. Is this a common issue with these even though it's not that old? Also, what type of cap kit should I be searching for model wise?

Cap kit I'm not sure about, Bob Roberts will have it though.

As far as that being a common issue (the adjustment board), yes... every time I see one of those monitors the adjustment board either has bad joint, bad pins, bad connectors, or bad pots... sometimes, if you're lucky it'll be all of them at once.

Interesting to see a licensed polo.
The circuitry is certainly that of the hantarex polo.
Good to have talked to you today on the horn such.

Hey, I have one of those too, and its not a Hantarex. I think its TeleVideo or something like that. Next time I'm at the Garage I'll take a pic, but apparently its dual-res too.

Edit: I forgot I did take a pic, its an "InterVideo" and also made in Italy. Has a blue card on the neck board just like the one you have.

Can you get yoke readings for me? If thats a 25in dual res I wouldn't mind seeing if I can get it working.

Great talking to you also. Hopefully you can ressurect this thing and I won't have to get rid of that nice big monitor.

I would gladly get yolk readings for you if I knew how but I don't. I think my screen is a 33''

I've never done it myself, but if I'm not mistaken, the yoke has a very low impedance, I think you only set your meter on like a 20 ohm range for this. I think it only comes up at like 8 ohms or something like that, but with a 33" screen I can't remember if it's higher or lower than a smaller monitor.

there's 4 wires that come off the yoke, they're blue/red and green/yellow. I think the blue/red are vertical and green/yellow are horizontal. on the Hantarex Polo they all go to one green connector in the upper right portion of the chassis.

it's as simple I guess as measuring the resistance across the blue and red to get your vertical impedance reading and then you measure across the green and yellow for the horizontal.

hope this helps.

If you have a 33" monitor you would need to look for a 33" chassis unless you find a Hantarex Polo. The Polo chassis can do 13"-33". From what I have seen 33" chassis are mostly all interchangeable. You can order a brand new drop in replacement from Alva Amusements.

I have a 25"

Is the chassis that you speak of from alva at the top of this links page?

I've heard mixed things about the Polos and their interchangeability.

if it means anything though, Chad's told me that they all use a different yoke. basically, my junk Polo 27 that I was given free will not work on a Polo 25 tube/yoke.

a common replacement for the Polo was that 8liners chassis, whether that works for a 33" or not though, I don't know. I guess I got lucky that my Polo 33 more or less cooperates well. lol
