Anyone get sellers remorse BEFORE you make the sale?

I just did something crappy. I posted my Pengo for sale for $300 and the guy was coming over tonight to look. I had to install the newly de-rustified and painted coin doors before he came over. I pulled out the pengo and played a game and installed the coin doors and decided I did NOT want to sell it. I like it too much.

I emailed him and told him I decided to keep it. He was cool about it but I felt like a TOTAL jerk doing it. I was selling it to make room for an Out Run. I think I'll still get the Out Run, just rearrange the game room a bit.

There's plenty of fish in the sea. Sure I might feel a pang of remorse selling a game, but not enough to cancel a sale.

I didn't have any remorse selling Outrun though. Man that game sucked, and I couldn't get out from under it quick enough! Parts cost way too much, it wasn't a fun game, and the scenery will turn you epileptic.

I have fond memories of Out Run and I need a driver in the arcade and the price is right ($200 fully working). I don't think I'll regret it. ;)

I do with every game i sell. If i could, i would keep every game i buy but it gets to a point where there is not enough room or something else pops up that you gotta have. Only way to get a that new game is to sell something else.

Speaking of Out Run, i put a lot of work in mine and decided to sell it when i was done. Couldn't sell it for the life of me and finally had to settle for less than i had in it. Really wish i would have kept it as i had a lot of memories playing it at a bar when i was younger. Oh well i guess. Plenty of Out Runs out there....but not to many with non cig burned plastics.

Nope, I agree. Outrun was huge for me and my friends in '86. I have one and love playing it every once in a while. I get a bigger kick out of the kids playing it and experiencing the shaker motor for the first time.

Exactly - I have an 8 year old daughter and have promised we would get a driving game :)

I had the exact same reasoning for getting an Outrun. I know how you feel. When I went to buy it, I ended up grabbing 2 other games I didn't really want. The other 2 ended up being keepers. Funny how things work out.

Outrun holds the record for the game that has lost its appeal the quickest in my gameroom. 1 day fully working was all it took. It landed in a house full of kids that LOVED it. It will be appreciated far more there than in my gameroom.

Pengo and Outrun, Both SEGA both EPIC games!!

wish I had a Pengo, oh and the tune is Popcorn wich is... well you all know this I hope as it been covered many times and also was in the charts in the 80's.

You were going to sell your PENGO???? What were you thinking??

You did good by backing out, you came to your senses.

Supposed to be selling my jamma cocktail to make room for an asteroids. No remorse there.

Yes Pengo rules ! I'd never sell it .

I had a brief touch of remorse over selling my cruis'n world machine. I had to take this thing apart to get it out of the basement, then turn around and put it all back together for the local buyer that wants it. After damn near killing myself hauling that pig up the stairs, i realized that i cut him way too good of a deal and i should have just scrapped the game like i had initially planned.

Oh, Chris, that is just harsh.

I ussually start the negotiation with a price well above anything that can give me buyer's remorse...

When people are looking for an East Coast Candy Cab, I often offer my Neo 29 for $600 (without a board).

It's a crazy insane price...

But I consider the fact that I may someday get buyer's remorse and look for another. Then I look at how much it would cost me to replace one (Including Gas/Tolls) and it comes out to about $500ish.....

Add to that all the Bullshit that I would have to deal with, and It is well worth the extra.

I had some remorse closing a deal with my Burgertime, but I was made an offer I couldnt refuse. I would have rather had it go to a better home where it would be more appreciated anyway.
