Anyone found a good textured black paint for coin doors?

Like the title says, has anyone found a good textured black paint for coin doors? I've used the Rust-oleum paint and have been pretty happy with the texture, but the black seems to come out closer to dark grey.

I've been using the Rust-oleum paint, and going over it with either semi-flat or flat black paint depending on the cabinet. I'd really like to find an all-in-one solution if at all possible.

I use Rust-oleum "hammered" paint then go over it with a black satin paint.
I've done many coin doors like this. They have all turned out nice!
Here is a nintendo door I did a while back......
Pretty much sounds like the same process you are using.....

That is exactly what I do!!! and I thought I was so cool for figuring it out!!! Thanks for dashing my super high opinion of myself

Rustoleum spray on bedliner is far better. Its not actual better, smooth surface with a real fine sand paper texture, like 600 grit. Works really well

Yup. I use Duplicolor truck bed spray, shoot it from about 3' away to just dust it. Then coat the whole thing with now "Rustoleum 7777" Comes out very close to original.

LOL! I thought the same thing when I first read this thread!!

Hmmmm, I like the way that truck bed liner trick looks! It would only work on certain coin doors though....
A nintendo or midway door didn't have that much texture as I recall? Looks close to a door on the newer Jamma games......

The rustoleum comes out not as rough as that , its comes out a little finer, id grab a can of both and see how it looks on the same surface

You can vary the degree of texture with a little practice.
He "spattered" the texture, but you can do a straight smoother shoot as well.
I've been using the bedliner stuff for a long time for lots of different parts, coin doors, speaker grills, marquee retainers, etc.

i spatter mine with spray bedliner as previously discussed but then i spray mine with gloss black dupont imron ( auto body paint)

when that krap dries, its hard as steel man..

Imron is some pretty fun stuff, but just a warning to anyone who isn't familiar with it: it's even nastier to the body than most other auto body paint. So a good quality mask is definitely in order.

IIRC, it was developed as a fleet paint. It's not quite as nice looking as a good base/clear, but it withstands just about anything.

The coin door is exactly how the rustoleum bed liner looks

Thanks to all for the feedback. At least now I'll know that I'm not an idiot when I paint the doors with the hammered finish paint, and then immediately follow up with regular black paint.

That's also a great tip on the bedliner. It looks like you guys are doing it on stripped coin doors, but would it work for ones that you're just trying to clean/freshen up, meaning over the existing finish assuming it's solid/not rusty?

It should but just do a light sand with 220 grit sand paper. I use it on more than just arcade games. I painted some parts on my old crx
