i have some 45s i know i will never use and wondered if anyone would be up for a 45 trade? I will put a list together if there is interest.

Phet and I had discussed starting a 45 swap awhile back and it never materialized. Glad you started it.

Thanks Dave and RM for your interest. That's phet for ya, never finishes what he starts. Just ask his wife. (I AM TOTALLY KIDDING PHET!!)

I will get a list together, hopefully tonight, and post it here. Can I put in a placeholder for the 2 Toto 45s for now, RM? Oh and also the YES, Leave It..

VG

OK I'm going to pass on the Toto 45's for now, I had to think about it and the one I really want is "Hold The Line".

I already liked the song from my youth, but I now really like the song after having watched "Mr. Wrong" with Bill Pullman and Ellen Degeneres. Bill's character is a wackjob, and at different times he sings these songs from the 80s and it's priceless. He does "Hold The Line" and it cracks me up. The other one he does is "I Want To Know What Love Is".

The movie also has Joan Cusack in it.

Might want to include condition on the list too...
Hmmm, perhaps someone with more skill than me could set up a vinyl swap page, where you could enter all of the information in a database, almost like VAPS style where it has Title, Artist, Version (album/Single edit), length, and condition...

Not a bad suggestion for the long term, RedWolf. Then again, that may be why the idea never got off the ground before? I think if more people wanted to be a part of it then you are right, that's the way to go probably. But for now, I'll be happy just posting what I have like RM did and going from there- I also don't know if you caught it in his listings or not, but rm did actually post which songs on his records skip. I know he didn't go into the level of detail on the records like "yeah I think this one was microwaved", but what he listed was good enough for me. I'm low maintenance like that though! :) I have some records in my juke that look like someone rolled them down a hill onto a freeway at rush hour, and they still play flawlessly. Those old records could take a beating!!

Hey RM, I am interested in these:

A-Ha - Take On Me / Love is Reason
ABC - When Smokey Sings / Chicago (Part I)
Philip Bailey - Easy Lover (w/ Phil Collins) / Woman
Kajagoogoo - Too Shy / Take Another View
Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me / Somebody's Watching Me (Instrumental)
Toto - Africa / Good For You

Also, any ABC you or anyone else might have.

I've got at least 100 to trade. Gimme a list of wants, or I'll try and post my haves this weekend, if time allows.

OK, had to speak on the above 2 items.. First, for whatever twisted reason, seeing the "Easy Lover" song just made me remember having a pair of white PARACHUTE PANTS I used to wear all the time when that song was being played to death here. And point 2, what other hits did ABC have? I only remember "When Smokey Sings", and that song would make me throw up a little in my mouth every time I heard it. Does this mean they had something better than that song?? No offense to your taste in music, but for whatever reason I think that there must be some DNA matching between the lead singer of ABC and, Rick Astley (still shudder when I hear his voice too).. He was apparently a truck driver before he took up singing.. Should have stayed there!

Right Phet, I'll hold those for you. And VG, that Yes 45 is one I meant to take off the list. I'll be swapping that one with Owner of a Lonely Heart. Sorry about that. However; I might be willing to let it go if you have something I want.

I have these:

Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence, Just Can't Get Enough
Level 42 - Something About You, Lessons In Love
Pearl Jam - Dissident/Rearviewmirror (I think I still have this one)
SoundGarden - My Wave/?

I will make that trade if you have all 6 of these - even if you don't have the PJ, I'll still do it.

Nice idea, but I think it will be awhile before it comes to fruition. Although, I think it would be important to note which 7" have the large hole or small hole. I'll be sure to do that.

Let the quote hacking begin.

It hath been hacked. :D

Ratt - Round and Round
I think I have this one... not sure of condition but it has the original photo sleeve (side note... probably another thing worth mentioning on the list...) I'll check and see if I still have it.

GTR - When The Heart Rules The Mind
Damn, good call, I actually have the 12" single for that song, which is nice but doesn't help with the jukebox :D

I'll have to put together a list after the holidays...maybe this weekend if I don't have much going on... I have a lot of crap I pulled out of the jukes, bunch of oldies and country if that's your thing... some rock too...

Speaking of big vs small holes (lol) I hate the way some of the newer vinyl producers don't adhere to the small hole = 33 1/3 rpm, large hole = 45 rpm standard...

I'm digressing a bit here, but anyone studied the "guide to condition" used by vinyl vendors on various sites, but particularly ebay?

The only way; "good" can actually mean; "practically worn out."

Oh, I may very well be up for this!
I've got absurd amounts of classic rock, pop-rock, etc, up through the mid-90s. I also have a decent collection of early-2000s alternative rock and some punk, etc.

RM, I may be interested in:
The Cult
Dexy's Midnight Runners
The Cult
