Anyone familiar with BP Microsystems EP-1 Eprom burners?

Is anyone here familiar with BP Microsystems EP-1 EPROM burners?

I have a lead on one and I'm wondering how good they are and if the software is still available? I'm not looking for anything spectacular, just something capable of reading and writing most EPROMS from classic mid/pre 90's games, in particular Exidy games like Venture.

I have an Ep-1140 and love it! Software is pretty easy to use and you can still download it from their web site if you create a username/password.

I bought an EP-1 a while back after checking with some experienced people about whether it would do classic game EPROMS and was assured that it would. Software can be downloaded from their website.

You'll need the big connector on the back of your computer for it to work.

I haven't had time to try it out yet, as I've been buried under other projects....

I've got a BP-1140 and it will burn everything except TMS-2716's (they are one off pinouts, so no big deal). The EP-1 was an earlier model IIRC, so it should do all the ROMs for classic games. They show up on ePay pretty regularly.

The BP-1140 will sometimes go for rediculous cheap prices if the people selling don't know better. When it is not plugged into the parallel port and/or the software isn't running, the error lamp is lit. I think I paid mode for shipping than I did for the unit, probably because of that (the seller had a picture with the error lamp burning bright as day...:)).
