Got pics?

I've been grabbing paint-match cards and checking shades, but can't make a decision. The original "light-blue" looks a little turquoise. I've seen Phet's masterpiece with his "Cornflower blue" and it looks good in the pics, but when I grabbed some color cards, the Cornflower looked way too light compared to the cab. I sanded off the initial fading and cigarette staining to get to a closer-to-original shade, but don't know whether to try to match or to just pic a three-color-combo that is close and looks good.

I've heard that someone didn't like the colors that came from the codes found here:

Has anyone used them and liked it? Got any pics of the finished product? I don't want to spend money on color and then be upset with it. I'll probably buy the smallest can I can get if I have to and primer/paint a piece of wood first to see what it looks like before I commit the entire cabinet....

Well, that's almost helpful, but the paint spots on the lid obscure some of the numbers. And the "dark blue" doesn't look nearly dark enough.

any pics of your finished cab?

48? 34?

Your's looks nice.

But I'm not sure if I shouldn't be going darker on the dark blue, or a little more turquoise on the light blue, and brighter on the yellow...

That first number, the label for the 2nd column is 48. The value for that column for "THALO BLUE" is 34.

Your's looks nice.
Thanks

My colors are very likely to be off.

and brighter on the yellow...

Yeah, brighter on the yellow for sure. Get a lemon yellow rather than a sun yellow. As to the light blue, I went more turquoise (Infinity Pool) than baby blue. On the dark blue, go with a cornflower. You can see the differences in mine vs the original and vs. Zork's:

For some reason I thought your light blue was cornflower. When I looked at some paint cards, the cornflower was very light, even lighter than the Infinity Pool. Where'd you get yours? Sherwin-Williams?

Infinity Pool is a Dutchboy color. I took the paint swatch from the Dutchboy Book into Sherwin Williams to have it color-matched and mixed.

Also you must remember that the clearcoat Williams used tends to yellow over time and that in turn tints the original colors.

I know, that's why I was trying to match the color that came out after sanding...

Damn, no Dutchboy retailers down here.

Don't suppose you still have those Sherwin Williams paint cans with the codes on them?

I'll have to check. Their retailer list shows Wal-Mart and Sears. I think my Wal-Mart stopped doing paint recently...
