They are the only source that currently has some parts I need to order but every time I place an order it pre-authorizes the charge from my credit card but claims that my address was not correct so it doesn't place the order. I use a pre-paid card for online transactions so it ties up that amount of my pre-paid money for a week or two.

If someone has used them or can get their card to work with this vendor I would be happy to compensate you for your efforts. I would like place a small order to make sure I'm actually going to get the parts then about a $1K order.

This is not a scam. It's a real company. They just have a shitty CC processing process.

Sigh...

That would be freaking fantastic. Here's the part I need:

10 pieces would be good for now then I'll probably be looking for 200-300 pieces. If you're going to place an order I can paypal you the cost for 10 pieces +10% if that works for you. Then I can pay you to re-ship them or whatever you want to do.

I just want the parts. Let me know what that will take and I'll make it happen.

Thanks!

onlinecomponents.com review

(Digging up an old thread instead of creating a new one.)

So, I saw this at http://www.onlinecomponents.com/molex-waldom-09506285.html?p=11828460

I decided I might try and order their last 09‑50‑6285 ‑ Molex / waldom housing. $30 min order. Well, I have a few other things I could get from them to make it happen.

I placed my order on 12-Mar. EVERYTHING says "can ship today" in my order.

I hear NOTHING.

16-Mar I email them. Response back: I'll look into it
18-Mar I follow up email. Response back: I didn't hear any thing back, I'll check.
20-Mar I follow up again. Response back: Delay in part shipping from factory. Next week.
27-Mar I follow up again. Response back: 09‑50‑6285 is discontinued, we can't get it. (I guess they didn't have 1 in stock after all!)
28-Mar Order actually ships.

BUT, they shipped the order from TWO warehouses (after 2 weeks of jerking me around) and charged me for shipping TWICE! They didn't tell me or ask me that they would.

SO, don't waste your time or money with these jokers unless your willing to wait, wait some more and maybe pay some extra surprise shipping.

Other than that, I got my order, and everything looks ok. Prices are reasonably good if the extra shipping hadn't killed it.

P.S. shortly after I ordered, the above link when to 0/out of stock. It is now back in stock at "1", which I can tell you it isn't in stock.

I ordered from these guys again.

They had a discontinued part in stock that no one else had. I had no choice.

Same deal... several emails and it is just getting shipped out a week later.

It seems to only be painfully slow when your items are from the AZ location. IL/CA both shipped the same day as I expected. But, the bulk of my order was from AZ.

OnlineComponents is probably not a franchised Molex distributor. Their website will show "parts available" for many parts that they physically do not have in stock.
For example -- today OnlineComponents shows stock of 28,217 of part number 08-52-0113. Waldom Electronics (one of Molex's larger authorized distributors) also shows stock of 28,217.

Pretty much any Molex part number -- do a search between sites. From all I have seen, OnlineComponents 'available' quantities matches 100% to Waldom's available quantities.

Ok, so when I ordered my discontinued relays from "AZ", they either had them locally or a different supplier ship them to them (hence the week delay) and the molex stuff that came from IL, was likely dropped shipped from molex? (And the single item from CA, an IC, must have been some other drop ship arrangement.) I should note some TE stuff also shipped from IL with the molex stuff. And some other molex stuff from AZ is still pending (and a bunch of other stuff).

Interesting... albeit a little confusing.

Either way, I've experienced a lot of delays with them, so I'll be avoiding them when I can. I asked them about the delays and they said "different warehouses of stuff have to be combined, call and we can tell you if any part numbers would incur a delay" even though it was all "AZ" marked items and said "ships today." I didn't push it.

Other much better sellers out there to buy from. (Last time I was chasing a discontinued jamma molex housing, this time a relay, but at least this time I got the relays!)

Most Waldom (both Molex and TE) would usually be shipping from IL but I have had them ship Omron relays from southwest (I forgot where).
Molex has warehouses all over the place but they won't drop ship for a non-franchised distributor.

Out of curiosity, who made and what was part number for the relay you were looking for?

Magnecraft / Schneider Electric 782XDX2M4L-12D

It is a 10AMP A/C 8AMP D/C 4pole relay I am using for my jamma multi-switcher. The replacement is only rated at 8AMP A/C and 4AMP D/C, so I needed the original rated to the full 8AMP D/C. I should have moved faster building it over the last 7 years. :)
