I have been talking with a guy who said he had a missile command cockpit and when he sent me the picture it was a sega missile command cockpit? I have seen the cabinet and cocktail but never a cockpit before. Here is a picture, anyone else ever heard or seen one of these?

I've got a manual for the Sega Missile Command cockpit. It's of limited value as it's written in Japanese ......

Its an interesting cab. The cockpit is identical to the Sega Missile Command upright. The cockpit part is just sort of fixed on to the Sega upright version. I believe that the additional cockpit piece has it's own part number.

The other thing worth noting is that the Sega cabs only used the mini trackball.

Here's a pic of the Sega MC upright. I.e. Without the additional bolt-on piece that turns it into a cockpit.

It's definitely a rare game....at least in the US since I believe the game was licensed by sega for overseas markets. As I recall there are a few people over the years who've owned one of these.

Ask the seller to take a picture of the PCB. I have an upright and it has a board which was from another sega game (Head On) which was re-engineered to play Missile Command. It's the only one of these boards that has ever turned up....

That upright is pretty cool. I only recall ever seeing one at auction and remember talking to the buyer about it before the bidding started. He was concerned it was a bootleg.
