So in a score of MVS games I just got there was this World Heroes 2 that the casing was melted from the inside. The game still works, but the graphics and sound are screwed up.

Do you think that this can be fixed by replacing the chip? I didn't check to see if it is a ROM. I assume that it would probably not worth fixing, since buying another would be cheaper.

Edit:
I just looked it up and it is a ROM;

probably something on the original board or on that board sending too much power to that chip...

crazy... I would just check and see if that area heats up during play.

+1'ing the "that's odd". I have a good stack of MVS carts and I never knew them to get that hot. Typically I check the solder on the board if I am having garbled graphics...but...yeah. It looks like you have something else going on. :p
