Anyone ever replace the wrapped marquee translight on a Star Wars?

Just did this on my Milipede a couple of days ago. Acetone is def the way to go to get the adhesive off, but it takes a lot of time.

Ok I finally got all the glue crap off.

Do you guy fill in the staples holes on the front side? Don't want those holes to telegraph through on the marquee.

I didn't.

Keep in mind your marquee will be cracked like crazy soon enough so perfection is really irrelevant.

I did this with Millipede a few years back.

Dude that battery / 10mm idea is genius. I'll be doing that. Thx

FYI. Energizer Max batteries are a little fatter than Duracell's. lol

Ok I think it went on good enough to call this a success. Did the best I could to keep it straight and get this marquee overlay around the curves on the wooden marquee.

The pictures detail my process. Used @andrewb trick but used double sided tape. And I used @Dewman trick with the AA batteries and 10mm socket. Worked great.

I also let the marquee warm up in the sun for a few to help activate the clue.

After it was on I used a wooden square dowel and the marquee bracket to clamp the edges and set the whole assembly in the sun to help set everything.
