Hey guys,
I'm restoring ths hacked-up busted-ass Nintendo cocktail into a sweet D2K.
I'm repainting the body & legs with Rustoleum "Hammered Black" and I will be redoing the old "oak" table top banding in something I haven't decided yet (maybe Oak again...Maybe CARBON FIBER!!!) but what will be left is rusty glass clips and some rusty CP bolts...

Does anyone know of or had anything Chromed before?

These are small parts and frankly I can't imagine it would be more expensive than paying for the NOS one's I've seen (around $100 for 4!!!).

I can do a google search but that's a crap shoot...I was hoping to see if someone here had done it beofre and if the results were satisfactory.

Anyone?

Thanks, ERIC

I have been thinking about getting the gun grip handles on my Demolition Man pin re-chromed (or re-plated, or whatever they are calling it). I have a quote currently for $75.00 each, which I think is VERY high ... not sure I want to dump another $150.00 into a pin that doesn't hold its value very well.

I'm still looking into my options ... all I really know is that they need it, badly!

I got some pinball parts rechromed. Per part, it's very reasonable. I ended up getting a handful of parts done at what probably averaged $10/part. Search rec.games.pinball for Mike Chestnut. He does a plating business, but a lot of work in the pinball community. I had a Stern coin door flap and a bunch of Fathom pin parts, which were rusty, done.

Keep in mind the condition of the part can play into the plating cost. If it's heavily pitted, it may have to be 'filled' before plating - more work.

Would you happen to know if he does gold plating?

Not sure, but wouldn't be surprised. The pin guys get a lot of stuff done in gold and brass especially. Do a rec.games.pinball search for him.
