Anyone ever find a new source for the NEO GEO EL lights?????

I guess the guy that was selling them before got sick and is not responding. Anyone know of a new source for EL lights for a NEO GEO's mini-marquees? I really would like to get that working on my 4-slot.

THANKS!!

X2 If you find something please post it. I would love to have light agian on those mini's. Looks bad unlighted. I hope someone finds a source. Thanks

There is a member at the neo forums building a LED solution to replace them. It seems worth watching. If you want to replace the EL panels right now its gonna cost a few hundred. The dual node system the neo uses isn't popular anymore so the prices are rediculous. Still possible, though.

I don't own a Neo Geo, but is there a way to make a custom backlight with LEDs or something of that nature? Just curious if I ever do pick up a Neo Geo that will most likely have the EL lights out.

Wow, those sure like they would. I think I will try them!

EDIT: I just ordered them. I can't wait to give it a try!

If they are too big, can you cut them down? Anyone know?

Rather than cutting them down, what about just masking them off to fit?

am i mssing something

Can you post a pic of the lights you are looking for. My 2 slot neo geo just uses a standard marquee light. So I am curious what you guys are looking for. The marquee light in mine looks factory. Ultimarc sells a led marquee light

On the 2 slot dedicated gold cab, and the dedicated 4 and 6 slots they have an EL panel behind each mini marquee that lights up just that mini marquee of the one game that is currently selected... these are prone to failure (mine is dead too) I don't have a pic of it since I'm at work, but if nobody else is able to post one I can get one later tonight.

Here's what it looks like when lit:

They are individual light panels behind each mini marquee that light up when you select that particular game.

*Damn Redwolf beat me to it

Good catch on the green color. I missed that. I am cancelling that order.

These look good:

I am contacting them about buying them without the inverter.

I did not catch the green color either.

This place sells:

A6 Parallel Electrode, White

A6 (~4.5 X 6.125-inches), Electroluminescent Parallel Electrode Panel, White when on (~3.875 x 5.5-inches Lighted), Leads Attached. This is the panel only.
SKU Number:pE-A6WH

Price: $18.56

The A6 panels are too small. You need one that is 11cm X 14cm (4.3in X 5.5in). You'd be an inch or so short on the width (lit area). You can buy bigger panels and cut them down but they get pricey the bigger you go.

PS--I like seeing all the pics from my tutorial being used! Makes me feel fuzzy inside...or something...

Here are my NOS panels. I need to find a Neo to test them in before they are ready for sale.
I think the 3 per are for a 6 slot and the 2 per are for 4 slots. There are two connectors on some of the panels that connect both panels to fit the proper Neo cab.
I also have 2 lights by themselves.

If you get those tested I would be interested in a set for a 4 slot. Thanks
